Chapter 3 Part 3

I sat on the couch while tons of thoughts were racing through my mind I couldn't believe they were actually giving me a car. I was so generous, I mean yeah I guess they had enough money anyway, but still I didn't think they would give a car to me. They were so unpredictable. What would I get Nessie. When would I get her gift. I wonder who I will meet in Fargo, North Dakota. Will I ever see my pack? Will we visit Charlie or Billy? Will I know the stuff they are teaching at the school? I sighed; I figured I should figure out the first thing first. What would I get Nessie? This is what I was struggling most with. I had no clue what to get her. It needed to be something unique though not just a necklace, or not just a bracelet, a special necklace, or a special bracelet. I guess I would get her a diamond necklace, but I would make it special.

I walked into the kitchen, and opened the fridge. It was full of food they bought, just for Nessie and I. Esme walked in,

"Are you hungry dear?" she asked.

"A little bit, but that's okay I'll find something."

"Nonsense. What would you like, steak, chicken?"

Just then Nessie walked in, "Steak sounds good." She said grinning at me. I grinned back.

"Steak it is." Esme replied. In a matter of seconds there was marinated stake in the pan on the stove and Esme was cooking it.

I turned to Nessie, "So Ness, what do you want for your birthday?" I asked her.

She shrugged "It doesn't really matter as long as I am with my family I'm happy."

"No. Seriously Ness, what do you want for your birthday?"

"Seriously Jake, I don't know."

"Fine."

"Fine." She joked.

"Dinner is ready." Esme said while carrying our plates into the dining room. We followed her and sat down at the table.

"Thanks, Esme it looks delicious." I told her

"Yeah, thanks Grandma it looks really yummy." Nessie said

"Well, you're very welcome. Enjoy." She said as she walked out of the room.

We ate in silence until Nessie finally said "So Jake, do you like your new car?"

"I love it. It was really nice of them to give it to me. How about you, do you like yours?"

"Yeah, I love it, it's really cool. So Jake, since we are goanna have to be boyfriend and girlfriend at school, who's car do you wanna take?"

"Doesn't matter to me, you pick."

"Okay, we can take my car, I'll drive." She said hopping up from her seat, picking up her plate, and walking out of the room."

I watched her walk out, wondering if when she said 'have to be boyfriend and girlfriend' I wonder if she meant act instead of be, or maybe she meant to say be. I don't know, I sighed and cleared my plate from the table. Maybe I could formally ask her to be my girlfriend. Yes. That's what I'll do. I quickly washed my plate and put it in the cabinet. Renesmee was watching me form the doorway, waiting for me to walk out of the door.

"Hey Nessie, wanna go on a walk?"

"Sure, let's go."

We walked down the front steps, and started walking towards the woods.

She stopped and turned towards me. I stopped and looked at her.

"Are you coming?"

"Jake, I'm just goanna come out and ask this. Will you be my boyfriend?" She asked

I looked at her shocked, I could tell she was worried that I wasn't saying anything.

"Yes, I was actually about to ask you the same thing."

"Really?"

"Yep."

She threw her arms around me and kissed my cheek.

"I can't wait for school! We should start packing, for Fargo! Let's go!" she said pulling me along behind her.
