Morning Star (continuation of the twilight saga)
Chapter 5 Part 3
Renesmee Cullen
"We are pretty darn good at making sand castles." I told Jake.
"I'll say its half your height!" he laughed. I laughed with him. Like he said it was about half my height and it had quite a bit of detail. It was built right next to an also hand sculpted sand mountain, it had a big winding staircase tower, a wide moat, and little side towers on the sides of the big tower. We had been down at the beach for hours on end, and I was getting tired. I sat down on the sand in just the right spot so then when the waves crashed the water barely brushed the tips of my toes. Jake practically collapsed next to me and lay on the soft beige sand and looked straight up towards the sky. I lay back with him and looked up at the clear, cloudless, blue sky.
"I can't believe we leave the island tomorrow morning already. Then the next day is the start of school already." I said
"Yeah, it's crazy." He replied.
"Are you ever nervous that no one will like you?"
"Well, yeah, but then I remember I can come home to you, and it doesn't matter what other people think. But why are you worrying about it? Everyone will love you." He shut his eyes.
I sighed, "Thanks Jake. Anyway, enough seriousness." I reached towards the castle and grabbed the bucket. I scooped up a bucket of water at an inhuman speed. I stood right over him, just as his eyes shot open. He shielded his face with his hand.
"Ness!!" he laughed. I giggled and poured the water all over him; he shot straight up and grabbed me. He tossed me over his shoulder and ran towards the dock.
"No! Jake!" I barely choked out form laughing so hard. Just as he got to the end of the dock, he jumped right off the edge; after we hit the water he let me go so I could swim to the surface. I kicked and came straight to the surface of the water at the same time he did. We both swam to the dock and climbed up onto the warm, sun-baked wood. We lay there laughing for probably five minutes straight. I looked at him and hit his arm playfully.
"I can't believe you did that!" I said through bursts of laughter.
"Hey, you started it." He said while standing up and laughing, still. He held his hand out and helped me up. We started walking towards the house never releasing our grip on each other's hand. When we were finally up the hill, I stopped.
"What?" he asked. I just pulled him into a hug.
"I'm so lucky to have you in my life." I told him.
"You aren't as lucky as I am to have you." He joked. I released him and pushed him jokingly.
"I was being serious! You always make me feel better."
"Well thanks; I think the same of you. You're amazing."
"Cheesy much?" Emmet yelled running up to us.
"Emmet! Thanks for ruining such a nice moment!" I yelled back kiddingly.
"Don't worry, I'm outta here." He laughed as he ran up the hill.
I chased after him, with Jake behind me. Once he outran us we slowed down and hopped up the stairs to the balcony. We both set our chairs next to each other and watched the sun set to the west of the island. It had that pretty pink, purple, yellow, and orange glow to it and it looked beautiful. The moon started to gain brightness as the sun went farther down and before we knew it we were pointing out constellations in the stars. We both finally drifted to sleep on the balcony, under the starry, blackish blue, sky.
