Morning Star (continuation of the twilight saga)
Chapter 7 Part 1
Jacob Black
I flipped on the TV and put my arm around Renesmee. I turned to kiss her forehead but she reached up and kissed me first, on the lips. She had never done that before. It was nice. It lasted for about ten seconds before she pulled away and rested her head on my shoulder.
"Whatever I did to deserve that, I'm happy I did it." I told her, hearing the happiness, almost excitement in my voice.
"You always deserve a kiss Jake. Whether it's for you just being you or another reason." She replied. I smiled.
"Good to know." I kissed her gently on the top of her head. Her eyes slowly closed. I let my head rest against the back of the couch and closed my eyes.
My eyes fluttered open. I glanced towards the clock on my wall. It was five in the morning and I had no idea why I was up so early, but I didn't even feel tired. I looked down. Nessie was still asleep on my shoulder, which couldn't be very comfortable for her. I scooped her up into my arms. I carried her down the steps of the loft. Across the soft carpet, and set her down in my bed making sure her head was on the pillow. I pulled the covers up to her shoulders. She looked so happy asleep. I turned and walked out of my room quietly closing the door before I walked down the hall. I rubbed my eyes as I walked down the stairs, past the living room into the kitchen. I felt a cold hand on my back, remembering all I was wearing was a pair of sweatpants.
"Can I make you anything before I go to work?" Carlisle asked.
"Oh, no thanks Carlisle. I'll just have some cereal." I replied.
"Are you sure? It wouldn't be a problem."
"I'm sure thanks anyway though."
"Okay, see you later. I'm off to work. Bye everyone." He said knowing everyone could hear him.
I walked over to the cabinet and pulled out a box of cereal. I grabbed a bowl off the shelf and poured the sugary cereal in the bowl. I pushed the cereal back in its place and shut the cabinet door. I poured some two-percent milk over the cereal and sat down at the breakfast bar. Edward walked down into the kitchen.
"Edward." I nodded my head toward him.
"Jacob." He replied stiffly. He didn't even look at me. I assume he knew what happened last night. I sighed. Really, it should be considered nothing.
"Sorry I'll try to control my thoughts more next time if you're in the vicinity." I apologized remembering some of my thoughts, no need for him to be angrier at me.
"It appears I should expect worse in the near future. Just please attempt to remember to wear a shirt around the house."
"No problem. Edward I know you've never liked me ever since we met. But, why?" I did feel kind of bad, I had no idea she was going to kiss me like that last night, not that I didn't enjoy it. It was just a pleasant surprise. He glared at me.
"Jacob, it's not that I don't like you. I actually respect you for the most part. I just can't stand your thoughts and you know why I didn't like you at first."
"Oh, I see." I laughed. He glared, again. I looked at my cereal at shoveled a couple spoonfuls in my mouth. He walked out of the kitchen without a word. I drank the leftover milk from my cereal and put my bowl and spoon in the dishwasher. Now to decide what to do. It's only about six in the morning. What do normal people do at six in the morning?
