12/14/16 - Hiatus, but Lostie Stepped Up!

Hello to all, Scarlet here, with some news that may be very disappointing to some. Therefore, I'm just going to say it:

I will be taking at least a one-year hiatus from the PWA's.

When I joined the awards in 2013, I was still in high school, and I had the time to dedicate bringing this awards about. I love to make things more efficient, and I enjoyed fine-tuning the awards each year to become better and better. 

However, things are different this year. I'm in college now, and I have a lot less time to dedicate to being online. I'm involved in a lot of clubs and classes, and I feel like my passion for videogames and Pokemon, although still there, has decreased some.

I no longer play the Pokemon games, and I honestly feel stressed in having to manage this contest alongside my college career. I also feel like I've grown a lot as a person, and I'm not as alone as I was when I was running this contest in high school.

I made a promise to you guys that I would keep running the contest until I lost the passion or time to do so. I'm running out of both, and so as soon as I finish up this year's awards and private critiques, I'm going to be taking this next year off from the Pokemon Watty Awards to try some new things and figure out what I want to do in life. 

Luckily, Lostie-P has stepped up to run the awards for this year while I take a back seat and reflect.

Next December, I will make a decision whether to continue hosting the Awards, hand them off to another party, or cancel them altogether. I know not what I will do; it's something I need to find out for myself.

Thus, please prepare for the possibility that next year might be the last Pokemon Watty Awards.

In the meanwhile, I will be taking a more laid-back position with the GottaReadEmAllClub, recommending fanfics to review and also reviewing--so I can still stay connected to the community. I would recommend you follow them as they will be holding some mini activities and posting reviews of Pokemon fanfiction on Wattpad.
