Hello again!

While the annual PWAs is cancelled for 2020, we are excited to bring you a new slew of contests.

For this summer, we will be holding monthly one-shot competitions from now until August.

Following that, we'll have a two-month fall short story contest and then a two-month winter short story contest.

We hope to return back to the normal PWAs in January 2021.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to enter. Before the prompts are listed, however, let's go over the rules.

Rules:

1.) No mature content—keep it family friendly. This includes no explicit gore, vulgarity, and/or sexual scenes.

2.) The story must be based on one of the following prompts. If it doesn't include enough of the prompt to be clear to the judges, you're out.

3.) The story must be submitted by the deadline.

4.) Absolutely no harassment of judges or anyone in the community.

5.) Entries must be no longer than 5k words.

Rewards:

1st Place: Shout-out on the PWAs profile page, a badge to place on your book, a review of your one-shot by a chosen staff member, and a place on the Summer One-Shot Winners reading list.

2nd Place: Review of one-shot by one chosen staff member, a badge to place on your book, and a place on the Summer One-Shot Winners reading list.

3rd Place: Review of one-shot by chosen staff member and a place on the Summer One-Shot Winners reading list.

Prompts:

Now onto the fun part! Here are the two prompts you can choose from.

Prompt 1:

The Pokémon world has been on the brink of extinction for a long time. Then one day, it falls. Why did this happen? What happens next? Who survives (if anyone)?

From a zombie survival story to a tale about two lovers finding hope in a deserted world, anything can happen in a post-apocalyptic dystopia.

Prompt 2:

Trainer X is a normal person on a journey, however, when zie stops in a town one day, mysterious things start occurring. People, Pokémon, possessions—they're disappearing, but it's up to you to decide what gets to stay and what has to go. How are these things disappearing? Why?

Perhaps a witch or a Pokémon or maybe even both are luring children away to aid them with something... sinister.
