Hello everyone, Scarlet here with amazing news. I was just contacted by NickUskoski , the Trust and Safety Specialist at Wattpad, and tl;dr, we have our name back.
He basically said (as I just learned that we cannot post the message verbatim, whoops.)that there was some miscommunication on how much control Wattpad currently wants to exert over the term "Watty", and that we never should have been hit with the takedown request. Now everything can, for at least for now, return for normal.
On another happy note, he also confirmed that Wattpad knows of our existence and looks favorable upon us as a good example of a community run contest.
I'm sure you're all really excited, and so while we're in good spirits, can you please drop by NickUskoski 's page and give him a follow and a nice comment as thanks?
