The stars shone brightly over the village whom was unguarded for once. Something can happen now. Or later. You could never know. This night was different then the past ones. Years had passed after the last 'Look'.  This night was the first after the last years. Silent wings flapped against the cold breeze, bright white eyes blazed, and blue horns glowed like the bright blue sky in the day. The beast soared over the sky as it stared at the village  below its wingspan. It carefully glided down making no noise as it landed on the soft grass covered terrain. He sniffed the air as it padded to a very tall building. The window was open and the aroma was in the air mingling there tempting the creature in armor. It looked around, then pushed its curved like muzzle inside of the open window. It started down with its eyes that now glowed red. Then the small human child's eyes opened all of a sudden. No surprise, amusement, fear, or startled emotions sparked in the child's eyes. His silver eyes changed into a deep red like the beasts. The creature reached its mouth closer but couldn't reach. So it placed one of its pink talons on the side of the roof making it collapse. The rest of the humans who were around the chosen child awoke. Screaming. Alerting others around them and not only in that building but the whole village. The beast had been warned--before it took on this mission--that this would happen but it had not known that it would be this serious. It heard a stronger scream of a  short female human.

"Mariko!", called one of the children. "Runako! Look a creature! Help!".

The creature was not sure what was going on until it felt a sharp pain strike into it's skin. It turned and glanced at the adult humans who were considered Warriors. Quickly the creature reached in and held onto the child with sliver eyes and let it slide down its throat. The child who had yelled first let out a scream as it wanted to reach for the other child. The beast dropped down and looked at the Warriors.  It swung at the humans as it began to take off. Horror stricken on the face of the General and the mentor of the child.

"My apprentice! Runako!", the heart broken mentor screamed as tears began to water inside of his eyes. "No..".

The General just looked blankly at the beats. "Akira calm yourself. All we can hope is that he was chosen", General Sahan spoke calmly at Akira.

"What if he isn't?", Akira retorted with anger. The General gave the mentor one more glare and looked down at his village. "It is one child. He may have been our General after me but I know which child should be chosen next. Nuruko will be your-'', he said pointing at Akira. "-knew apprentice".

"But what about Runako! He could be dead! He was meant to rule after you!", he growled. "I can never see Nuruko as my last apprentice!".

"AKIRA!". Patience had ran out of the General's  tone. " We lost him now we can't do anything about it! Now we will pretend this never happened okay? Now the orphans can sleep in the Mill tonight tell Mariko now Akira".

"But Runako-".

"What did I say?", Sahan spat. "Go!".
