Trico stepped out of the pool of water and shook his feathered pelt as the water droplets sprinkled onto Runako who was below him. The boy let out a huff of impatience. That boy had a short temper! They continued with their journey to the unknown (Well at least to Runako) as they walked along stone ruins.
"Let's get going Trico. We need to hurry!", Runako called as the boy mounted the tamed beast's back. The pair took off and continued with their adventure.
Time Pass
Trico padded across the cobble stone floor as he entered a building. There had been many obstacles for both him and the boy. It was very surprising that he still had any talons and energy left in him, after all it was a long trek. He had been honored that the young, and confused boy had helped the beast so many times before. In return Trico would protect the unguarded boy, and Runako would soothe him: the beast. Unease prickled up the creature's spine as he glanced around his surroundings. He threw worried glances around the room. The weight of the boy on his shoulder's faded as he swiftly drifted onto the cold firm floor. The sweet scent of grass flourished into the beast's lungs as he encountered the fern colored plant on the ground. Pieces of the cobble stone floor had been ripped off. Trico shuddered. His mother the cobble stone floor, him: the teared pieces. Or it could be the other way around. Either way they were ripped away from each other. He was glad Runako had been by his side, always. Loneliness had been the last thing on his mind. A small memory clouded reality. His mother's amber colored eyes glowing with praise as she preened her only surviving offspring. She had been a softie, but she turned savage when she protected him. Sadly she had died in vain trying to protect Trico. Melancholy and loneliness was all he could feel that day but Runako had filled those wounds. Snapping back to reality Trico found the boy and cautiously trailed behind his tracks..
Runako looked down towards the drop. The heights scared him, both of the view and the way of breaking a leg, or worse. Your neck, and spine. That can leave you to die painfully and paralyzed. Letting the image drift away he hopped down feeling an eerie silence cut the air. Then their was the noise. The familiar noise of the awakening Samurais. Many of them came rushing through as they stood tall over the boy. Fearing he would be caught Runako fled. He raced around in confusion as he saw their menacing, cold, beady eyes glare at him each route he took. His last option was to call: "Trico!".
Immediately the man-eating beast emerged from the gloomy depths of hiding and attacked.
Trico heard the call of the boy and leaped out. He fluffed his feathers out making himself look twice his size, arched his back to look more menacing, and curled his lip into a snarl, letting a massive battle cry ring around the room. He shot his pink talons at the Samurai's giving them stunning blows. One by one they returned for the boy but Trico crossed their paths. He felt pain rocket up one of his haunches. But whining and whimpering like a loser made Trico look bad. He felt the boy crawl up his back in a way of protection. He leaped up into the air dodging a spear. The final Samurai stood their. He let out a savage snarl before ending the easily fought battle. He was still ready and tense as he bounced up and down with ruffled feathers. Runako let out soothing words and calming strokes.
Once Trico was calmed, Runako proceeded to take out the spears that were jabbed into his companion's pelt. He pulled them out one by one. Each one that was pulled out made Trico let out a soft whimper. Yet he was amazed at how much pain Trico could withstand. Blood poured down like a crimson cascade with a rank smell. He clean the creature's feathers off as it let out a satisfying purr coming from it's mouth.
