Trico pulled away from Runako as he whipped his head around, searching for a new perch. He gripped onto a pillar that had stairs running up to the peak of it. The beast took several more leaps before pausing. His feathers where ruffled, his eyes flash nervously, and he let out soft roars. The boy who was on his head peered over and saw what had startled the creature. Another stupid eye to get rid of. He jumped off and landed on the wooden platform. He spotted the eye and went over to get rid of it. Runako turned back to Trico. "The eye is gone now you don't have to worry any longer!", he said. He heard the creaking of the wood under his feet. He was sure it wasn't going to collapse but that was where he was wrong. Trico landed on his pink talons with a thud. Then that was what was triggered. The structure slowly sloped to the side as it tilted like a see-saw. Runako's reflexes kicked in. He raced towards Trico and held on to his feathers. He felt much more safe with the huge animal.
The beast lunged forward and stood on the closest pillar. It began to crumble down beneath the weight of the two. Another pillar. Another leap. Crumbling. Again; another pillar. Another leap. Crumbling. Fear gripped Runako's heart as he noticed each time Trico landed the floor would fall under his weight, and each time he leaped he would swing around, loose grip on a feather, then he'd find a grip, but it repeated all the time. Finally the world was still. Nothing fell. It was just still. Trico's breath was fast. He was tired. Panting. Out of breath. His tail was laid against a ledge. He couldn't leap to the place he wanted to land and since his flight feathers hadn't grown. "Sorry Trico. I'll come back", Runako reassured as he climbed up the ledge.
He found the entrance of a building. He got in as spotted the thing he didn't want to see ever again. The blue beady eyes, with the blue glow, with blue symbols, with it's stupid glare. The stupid, stupid, Samurai. At least it was one but Trico wasn't here to kill the life out of it. He walked up the stairs slowly and quietly. But no matter what he tried he had to pass by with triggering it. That was what happened. It awoke and chased behind the boy. His tattoos glowed blue as the Samurai had a hold of him. Magic bloomed like a flower over his vision. Runako's anger grew as he slipped out, and bounded up the narrow staircase. He leaped over to another platform where the Samurai couldn't catch him. He looked back then looked at his feet. The tiles of the floor contained symbols that glowed blue.
What was with the color blue. A lever was located next to him. He pulled on it and opened a jaw bridge. He got back to the other side and heard the footfalls of the Samurai chasing behind him. "Screw you!", Runako called over his shoulder as he left the Samurai behind him. He peeked into a new entrance. More Samurais. But with spears. They were looking down at something. He carefully edged behind the two, but then he heard something. A roar. Trico! They were hurting him!
"Oh you'll see what happens when he get's his claws on you!", he whispered loudly enough for only himself to hear. The same narrow staircase was in front of his eyes. There was two Samurais now chasing him. He ran up to another entrance to spot himself walking along a planks of wood. Trico was under him. Spears was pierced into the creature's skin.
"Trico!".The beast leaped away and to a closed jaw bridge. His claws slipped in through the gap's opening. "Hold on a little longer Trico!", he encouraged. Time was ticking. Trico's life was at risk. He jumped off the platform to get into the inside of the almost closed jaw bridge. He got into the gap and pulled the lever. The jaw bridge opened and Trico pulled himself in. Blood pooled under him as he collapsed to the floor. The creature was panting again as it lifted itself back to feet.
Runako climbed on his back and began to soothe him while puling out the inserted spears.
"Were out of danger now boy. We're fine. We'll be fine.", he whispered into Trico's pointed purple-pink colored ears.
