Waking Up to You

*Nate's POV*

I lay in bed next to my wife Lavynya. Her head on my chest as soft snores left her mouth. The clock on the wall reads 4 a.m. I decide to take another quick rest before I wake up in the morning.

*9:00 a.m.*

I feel jumping on the bed and Lavynya saying don't wake daddy up. I fake that I'm sleeping before I hear my daughter Serena soft voice singing happy birthday. A smile starts to creep on my face as she continues jumping on the bed. I finally open my eyes to see Lavynya and Serena smiling down on me. I grab them both and smother their faces with kisses. Lavynya gets up and stands by our dresser with a tray of all my favorite food. I'm drooling just seeing the tray of food in her hands.

"Happy Birthday Baby!" she says as she sets the food in my lap. I smile and give her a passionate kiss which is soon ruined by Serena.

"Ewww.." Serena's eyes are covered with her hands as she chants ew over and over. Lavynya and I laugh as she continues.

"I'm just showing mommy how much I love and appreciate her Serena. Just like I love you and appreciate having such a beautiful daughter as you" I tell her giving her a gentle kiss on the forehead.

"Eat up because I have a ton of things I bought you for your special day, Nate" I let out a sigh as she hands me a fork and spoon. She playfully glares at me before fixing a small plate of pancakes for Serena. I secretly love when she spoils me with the last trends for shoes or whatever I stare at through the store's windows. But I like to mess with her all the time. We may be adults but we still act like children from time to time.

"Fine.. But I don't think I will like it" I say as I move the tray and pat my lap for Serena to sit on. Lavynya puts two boxes and five bags around me. I have Serena help me with the presents just like every year. I open a bag and see a few blunts rolled up I close the bag up again and give Lavynya a wide smile.

"Thank you lil mama" I give a quick kiss before open the rest of the gifts. Everything is almost the same as last year not that bothers me. I know the Peppa Pig movies where from Serena. I smile and thank them both before handing the movies to Serena. Lavynya gets in bed again with me and snuggles up with me.

"Thank you for today" I whisper in her hair as I pull her closer to me. We hear Serena laugh from the living room. I smile wide just thinking of our little girl. Her laughter fills my ears making me smile wider.

"I love you and Serena so much. Do you think we can have another one of us running around the house?" I ask as I listen for Serena's laughter in the background. Lavynya shifts so she can see me better.

"How about in few months we have our little bundle of joy in our arms" she says smiling up at me. I laugh and kiss her before I roll on top of her. I kiss her face before looking into her eyes.

"This is by far the best birthday present I could have ever asked for" I say as I go down towards her stomach and lift up her shirt well my shirt above her stomach. I lay my head on her stomach and tears fall down my face. I'm happy to have such a wonderful wife and family. I can't wait for the years to come and see my children following their passions.
