*1 year has passed*

*Y/N's POV*

Nate and I had a handsome baby boy who we named Luke Nathan Maloley.

Luke and I were watching Finding Dory Netflix.

He was babbling every time he saw Dory.

Nate came through the front door his hair a mess.

"What's wrong?" I asked him moving Luke to sit in his bouncy chair.

"Never underestimated a sleep deprived mom when buying the last formula in the store" Nate said placing the bags on the kitchen counter.

"She did this to you?" I ask as I pat down his hair back into place.

"No, but I was getting so frustrated I pulled my own hair" he said helping me out the groceries away.

"Wow" is all is say before hearing Luke's small whimpers.

I rush into the living room and see tears running down his face.

"Baby" I pick him trying to calm him down, but nothing works.

"Here let me take bubba" Nate says extending out his arms.

"Hey bubba want to go with daddy?" Luke Looks towards Nate and makes grabby hands.

I look at Nate as he tries to make Luke calm down.

"Bubba are you hungry? Mommy not loving you enough?" Nate says the last question with a teasing voice.

"Haha I love my baby" I say blow a kiss to Luke as I make my way towards the kitchen.

I prepare a bottle of formula and hand it towards Nate.

"Let's see if bubba is hungry" Nate says placing the bottle against his lips.

Luke takes it and starts to suck on the nipple with a content smile gracing his face.

I look at Nate and smile as he feeds Luke.

Y/BFF/N has come by a few times, but ignores Nate in every level.

She loves Luke and is on good terms with me, but mad at Nate.

She doesn't love him seeing as she is about to get married to doctor.

She feels guilty still since she never really realized Nate loved me.

"What's got you so smiley huh? What's got mommy smiley over there bubba?" Nate asks me and Luke as he finishes the bottle.

Luke makes his grabby hands towards me and Nate passes him to me.

I place a small towel on my shoulder and start to burp Luke.

"Just happy" I reply as he sits next to me.

"Well then I'm happy too! Got the girl and a very handsome baby boy just like his daddy" Nate says pinching Luke's cheek after he was burped.

"Very handsome" I say kissing Luke's cheek excessively.

He squirms in my arms as I continue.

*Nate's POV*

I look at Y/N and Luke as we sit in the couch.

I smile and kiss her cheek quickly startling her in the process.

"What was that for?" She asks as she places Luke back in his bouncy chair.

"I would have kissed your lips, but don't want to scar little bubba over here" I say and causes Luke to divert his eyes from the T.V towards me.

"Yeah right! You've done worse" Y/N tells me as I pulls her on to my lap.

"No I haven't" I say as I place a kiss on her lips.

"Yes you have! Last week you gave me a hickey while he was in my arms"

"In my defense I couldn't see him and he was sleeping" I say a cheeky grin plastered on my  face.

"Sure" is all is she says as we watch Luke bouncing to Dory finding her parents.

I pull her close and lay my head on her shoulder.

The heart wants what it can't have sometimes.

But in rare times everything aligns together and the heart gets what is so badly desired.
