Chapter Twelve

Regan frowned. "Come again?" He whispered.
"Ed's time was up. He was trying to alter society in a way that would change everything. And the world wasn't ready for it yet. Won't be for a very very long time."
"And what reform was he trying to bring about?"
"Equal rights."
"Equal what?!"
"Never mind that. What's important is that Adonis helped the world, and Ed. In the end, she achieved true greatness and as many things do," I touched the bush, and it turned into particles floating in the air, "she became eternal. She was granted into Olympus, where accomplished Seer's are revered."
"So you're saying, once you've done what the gods want, you'll... just die?" Regan had a deep frown on his face.
"There has never been a Seer that has lived past completing their purpose."
"And how old are you?"
"I'm not sure. I stopped counting at two hundred."
Regan ran his hands through his hair, and turned to look at my face.
"I do believe, you are the most gorgeous woman I've ever laid eyes on.."
"Step away from her, Regan. Before I force you."
I stood, feeling like I had just been caught stealing cookies from the kitchen before meal time.
"Syn, come here."
I rolled my eyes and ignored the beast.
"Why are you being such a brat?" He hissed. Regan growled under his breath, and stood in front of me. As if he could protect me.
Standing toe to toe with each other, I noticed exactly how tall my beast was. They may have looked similar, but Elric was more than a head taller than Regan, and almost twice as large in muscle. In that moment, I had never felt smaller.
"Calm down, boys. There's no need to have a pissing match just because I'm being disobedient. Regan, would you escort me to my room?"
The shit eating grin that spread across his handsome face would have been enough to make any woman swoon.
"I'd love to, beautiful."
The tension in the air was so thick I felt like it was choking me.
I strode away from the men, my head held high, and my skirts flowing in the wind.
It didn't take Regan long to catch up to me, and at a backward glance, the fury in Goliaths eyes actually scared me.
