Chapter Seventeen

"Syn!"
"Where's she going?"
"Did I say something wrong?"
I just couldn't stop myself, my legs kept moving and moving and my brain just kept thinking.
While I had been hiding, like a child, from my embarrassment, I had a lot of time to think. I had time to meditate and work on the anger I had felt lately, and when I was done I knew three things. One, I had never felt power like this before. Two, I had somehow started to fall for Elric's royal pain in the ass. And three, I belonged here. My purpose was somewhere here I just had to find it.
In my haste, I had somehow made a wrong turn and ended up in a space I had never seen before.
I stood in a giant cave, that had obviously been added to. The waterfall towards the back made a constant comforting sound, echoing off the walls. To the right of me sat a small garden, and behind that was a miniature village.
On my left, down a short path, was a small bird bath, and glancing up I noticed the cave didn't close. It seemed to go on forever.
Noticing a movement, I turned towards it and found that the small village had been invaded by sprites. The little fairy like creatures tended to their homes, and the garden surrounding. I had only seen a sprite once when I was a child, so seeing this amazed me.
"There are merfolk in the pond. It tunnels down to the ocean on the other side of the cave wall so they're free to come and go."
Hands grabbed my shoulders and rubbed.
"I've been putting this together for you. You mentioned wanting a place to connect with the earth, so I gave it. It may take awhile, but a willow tree has been planted by the side of the garden. Once it's fully grown I assume it will be glorious. Although, it will pale in the light of your beauty. My love, never run from me again. That woman, is my betrothed. My mother had gotten tired of waiting on me to pick a queen, so she picked for me."
"If she is your betrothed, why am I here?"
"I fear I am falling madly in love with you. Lucille is to be gone within the week."
"And then?" 
I felt strong hands turn my body.
"And then, darling, you are mine."
