Regan had been the first to find me. Shivering, crying, and trying to take deep breaths. I'd never felt a pain quite like it.
Blood stained my thighs and pooled under my buttocks, soaking the earth. The poor sprites had been disrupted in their daily routine as they tried to comfort me.
Elric was not long to follow and he paled at the sight of me.
"My love, what's wrong? Regan, get the doctor. Tell him to meet us in our chambers."
"Elric..." I mumbled as he scooped up my exhausted body and began the trek upstairs.
My eyes were getting too heavy to open, and I soon found myself in a deep sleep.

"If she hasn't bled in years, she probably didn't know." A woman whispered. Cold hands touched my swollen abdomen.
"I've cleaned her up, she should wake when she's ready. Be very careful of what you say, we don't want her getting so emotional again. If she has any problems, send for me right away."
One moment I was resting, the next my stomach turned and I leaned over the edge of the bed heaving. Everything I had consumed in the morning came up and I found myself looking into a pale of vomit.
"My love, Syndra."
I heaved and heaved some more until finally my stomach emptied completely and I was able to look Elric in the eye.
"Are you done?"
I shook my head yes, a frown on my face.
"I want you to take a deep breath, and listen carefully."
Elric gazed into my eyes, a giant smile on his face.
"You're with child, mouse."
