"Ma'am?" Allison stuck her head through a small crack in the door, watching as I lay flat on my bed. With a curse I flicked my finger and ordered the curtains to open. A flood of sunlight shone onto my face, suddenly I felt like crying.
"Is something the matter? You'd normally be up and dressing by now."
"Nothing is wrong Allison."
I struggled out of bed, and ordered the bed to be made. The comforter was pulled around by invisible hands until everything was perfect.
"May I ask-"
"No."
"What happened to your neck?"
I glared at Allison as I stalked towards the adjoining bathroom.
"Let me draw your bath."
"Allison." I growled.
"I don't know what's wrong but I'm here-"
"Allison."
"And I want you to know you can talk to me-"
"Allison."
"About anything. And-"
"ALLISON!" I finally screamed.
The girl looked at me, her eyes wide as saucers.
"Leave it be."
"But something is clearly wrong-"
I flicked my hand and the irritating chatter stopped. Allison's lips had been sealed. Unable to open her mouth Allison took to glaring.
"I said leave it. Now if you're done talking, I'd like to be alone."
With another flick Allison's mouth opened and she turned to walk away.
"I'm sorry, ma'am."
"I've told you a million times, ma'am is not my name."
I sunk into the hot water that filled the tub, my muscles relaxing. The ends of my hair swirled in the water, the lavender scented bubbles spreading over my body. I let myself lay lower in the tub, just the top of my head sticking out before closing my eyes and attempting to find peace.
This place had caused me nothing but stress. In order to tap into my true power I needed a sanctuary. A place where I could touch and be one with the earth and it's elements.
"Than you shall have your sanctuary." A deep voice growled as gentle, calloused hands touched my neck.
"I'm sorry, Mouse. Sometimes I lose control."
My answering glare seemed to make him sad.
"You can't tell me you didn't enjoy it, little one. I could smell your arousal all the way in my room. I can still smell it, staining your sheets. Tell me, did you touch yourself?"
He ran his mouth along my collar bone as I tipped my head back giving him more room.
"You did, didn't you? Thinking of my hands touching your beautiful body. I can't seem to help myself when it comes to you, mouse."
His lips met mine in a frenzy, and I was transported in time."But I want to be king! It's not fair father." A young boy screamed as he stomped his foot.
"You are not the heir. You will do as I say, I expect no questions." A large man with red eyes stood on the steps to the golden throne Goliath and I had previously occupied. "Elric will rule as he is destined. You shall stand by his side and fight the world together. Just as Regan will stand with him. Do not fight me on this."
"I get to fight?" The boy straightened his stance, puffing his chest out as far as possible.
The older man chuckled, reminding me of a happier Goliath.
"Yes, Edit. You get to fight by your brothers side. Your duty is to ensure his safety. Above all, he must succeed."
"Than I accept the task. I shall protect him with everything I have." The small boy mock saluted the man with a smile.
"Father, don't put silly things in his head. I can protect myself." Goliath said as he walked into the room.
"Soon, that throne will be yours. I expect your siblings to aid you when I cannot. I also, expect you to give your people a beautiful, and just, queen who will serve them right.""That wasn't very nice, Mouse."
"Elric, is it?" I whispered. His anger was soaking up the peaceful atmosphere.
"Mm. Nobody has called me that in years, Mouse. Do not go through my mind again. Private things are meant to stay private."
I rolled my eyes at the frustrating man. So much for a relaxing bath.
