Holly picked up her things and left the classroom. She knew that none of this was her fault, but she couldn't help the strong sense of guilt in the pit of her stomach.
She arrived at the library across campus soon after and quickly found Elliott sat at a table in the corner. She dropped her bag to the floor and it made a loud bang, earning her a few angry looks from the other students that were trying to study.
"Didn't go to well?" Elliott asked.
Holly looked at him and raised an eyebrow, which was enough for him to understand that things weren't good.
"What did she say?"
"It wasn't what she said..it was more what I said."
"What did you do?" he asked, pulling his chair closer like an excited child.
"You love the gossip don't you? Well, I asked her to tell me about us. I wanted her to tell me because the doctor said that it might help jog my memory. She told me everything. It seemed to make her a little uncomfortable talking about it but I had to know."
"And? Whats the big deal?"
"She really likes me Elliott. At first I thought it was maybe just a stupid little fling, but it's not. From what she told me, I really cared about her. I feel horrible about it because I can't remember having those feelings."
"Do you not feel anything? I mean, it's pretty weird that you don't have any feelings at all for her."
"I don't know. There's something there but I don't know what it is. I can't explain it. What do I do? Do I pretend that this never happened? Or do I go back to her and see if I can get those feelings back? I don't want to use her, but maybe if I tried again, things would come back."
He grabbed her had from across the table, something that seemed to be becoming a recurrence today.
"If you don't feel anything, don't go back to her. It's not fair on you, and it's not fair on her. I can't tell you what to do, but I only want whats best."

Finally, she was home after what felt like the longest day. Elliott had been reluctant to let her go, but she needed to get into a routine and all she wanted to do right now was to get into bed and sleep.
Her mind kept wandering back to Allison. She truly hated herself for putting her through this. She didn't even remember her, yet she felt closer to her than anyone else. After texting Elliot to let him know that she was okay as promised, she flicked through her contacts to see if there was any names she wasn't familiar with. Eventually she came across one with the name 'Allison'. She didn't recognise the name, but a quick look though her text messages confirmed that it was in fact Miss Laine.
She hesitated, but she had to call.
After the 4th ring, she picked up.
"Holly?"
"Allison?"
"How are yo..wait. You remembered my name?"
"No, unfortunately." Holly sighed. "I was looking through my contacts and I saw your name. I checked my text messages and realised that it must be you.
"O..oh. How are you?"
"I'm as good as I could be right now. What about you?"
"I'm okay. What're you doing?"
