Allison asked Dani to grab the car keys from the side table, and then she helped her into the car.and she got me into the car. The pain in her stomach was like nothing she'd ever felt before.

It took about 15 minutes to get to the hospital, and she began to panic more and more as the pain got worse. She knew the pain wasn't a good sign, but she soon realised that not only was she in pain, but she was bleeding too.

"Dani, hurry up, please. I'm bleeding!"

Dani sped up a little, staying quiet through the journey.

Allison tried to remain calm, but she knew this wasn't good news. When they got to the hospital, Dani helped her inside and they rushed to the front desk.

"How can I help, Miss?"

Before Allison could reply, Dani spoke for her. "My friend thinks she's having a miscarriage."

A nurse rushed the blonde over to a wheelchair and pushed her off down the corridor, into a different ward. Dani followed behind as the two of them waited for a doctor. A few minutes later, the nurse returned and she was asked to change into a hospital gown. After doing so, she took Allison down the hall and into a room where she would have an ultrasound.

Allison lay down on the bed and the nurse rubbed the cold gel onto her stomach. She was calm and happy, and Allison couldn't believe how normal she was being.

"I'm bleeding." Allison blurted out, scared what was happening.

The nurse took her hand and gave her a reassuring smile "It doesn't mean anything, bleeding can often be quite common in pregancy. However, we need to do an ultrasound, just to be clear."

"I fell and landed on my stomach, this isn't normal I know something is wrong!"

The nurse stayed silent, and Allison watched the monitor, praying that everything was going to be ok. She hadn't had time to contact Holly, but she wanted nothing more than for the brunette to be by her side.

"How many weeks pregnant are you?" The nurse asked, looking a little puzzled.

"14, or 15. Is there anything wrong?"

"I'll be back in a moment or two."

When the nurse left the room, Allison felt her anxiety begin to rise. Why would the nurse need to leave the room? Reaching for her jacket that was on the wheelchair beside her, she grabbed her phone from her pocket and text Holly.

' Call me, please. It's urgent. I'm at the hospital. I need you.

The nurse came back into the room, with another doctor following her. She ordered the Doctor to take a look at the screen, and Allison watched as he checked, and then rechecked several times.

Something was wrong.

"Miss..Laine?" He asked, looking at the clipboard.

"What is it?" Allison begged, she just needed to know her baby was ok.

"I'm terribly sorry to have to say this. But unfortunately there is nothing we can do. I'm afraid it is too late."

Allison felt like she couldn't breathe. "No..no. Please no. Tell me this isn't happening, please. There must be something you can do."

"I'm sorry, terribly sorry. Theres nothing we can do for your babies. Theres no heartbeats."

She erupted into a flood of tears, her heart breaking into a million pieces. When she had first found out about the pregnancy, she had thought about a termination. Now, she couldn't believe that the thought had even crossed her mind. She wanted this baby so much, this baby was so loved by its parents. She ran the words over and over in her head. 'Theres nothing we can do for your babies.'

"Wait, you said heartbeats. Plural. What do you mean?"

The doctors looked at each other. "Miss Laine, you were having twins. You did know, didn't you?"

At 3am, Holly had a phone call. She was laying on the couch, wrapped up in an old duvet. Allison had been calling all night, and she watched her phone ring. Finally, she decided to pick up. She knew Allison was supposed to be at work in the morning, so it was unusual for her to still be awake. Maybe it was finally time to give her a chance to explain.

"Hey."

"Hey."

"Where are you?"

"The old apartment. Isn't it a bit late to be calling?"

"Can you come and see me?" Allisons voice was quiet and she was sniffling like she was crying.

"O..Okay. I'll be home in half an hour."

"Didn't you get my message?"

"No?"

Allison looked through her texts and realised the message had been sent through iMessage. The message hadn't been delivered, which meant Holly hadn't recieved the text. Fuck.

"Holly I'm at the hospital, can you please just come? I need you."

There was a sobbing at the end of the phone, and then the phonecall ended. Luckily, there was only one hospital in the area and Holly knew exactly where to go. She grabbed her keys and ran outside to the car. Allison had sounded so upset, why would she be upset?

'What the hell was she doing at the hospital at 3AM?' she thought to herself.

After a few minutes, something clicked in her brain and she realised exactly why she would be there. The baby. FUCK.
