Today was the day. The day Holly was moving back to England.
She was scared. terrified.
The only good thing about moving back was that she would be close to my grandparents again, and that was something she had missed dearly whilst she had been away. Other than that, she wasn't looking forward to it. She'd made the last minute decision in the heat of the moment when she was angry and now there was no going back. In the last couple of weeks she hadn't spoken to Elliot nor Allison, and neither of them were aware she was moving back to England.
It was strange and upsetting to see her apartment all packed up. Alex had decided to keep the lease so that it would be there if they ever wanted to come back to visit, but it still wasn't the same. The furniture was covered with plastic sheets, the carpets covered up with dust sheets. It looked like a crime scene...much like her parents house when they were killed.
"You all ready to go?"Alex asked, dragging the suitcases down the stairs.
"Yeah I think so. Do you think I have any time to run a few errands? It's only 4:15."
"I dont see why not, the plane doesn't leave until tonight. Just don't be long okay."
She kissed his cheek and smilled. "Can I take the car?"
"Of course. Be careful though."

The sky was a dark shade of grey and the clouds moved quickly across the sky. It was only a little past 4:30 but the dark early nights were already upon us. Holly pulled up and turned off the engine. She was nervous and to be honest, She wasn't even sure that being here was such a good idea.
Allison had written down her address not long after they first met and although Holly couldn't remember this, she had kept the small piece of paper in her wallet where she found it a few days earlier.
Taking a deep breath, she got out of the car and walked up the long path towards the front door. She knocked on the glass and waited but there was no answer. She waited a while but no one came. A small wave of relief washed over her. Maybe it was a good thing that she wasn't home.
Her had was pulled down a little further and she pulled her jacket in closer to her body. Her breath was visible in front of her face and the slender hands that hung by her sides had turned a light purple colour. Her feet shuffled back and forth to stop her freezing to the cold gravel that lay beneath her feet.
"Holly?" A voice called out behind her before footprints were heard on the gravel path.
Holly turned around and in front of her stood Allison. Her blonde hair that was once long, was now shoulder length and was blowing in front of her face.
All of a sudden she was hit with a wave of anxiety and she forgot how to speak. Instead, she just stared as Allison hurried up the path, fighting with a stack of books as she fumbled in her jacket pocket for her keys.
"Can you hold these?" She asked, shoving a load of books into Holly's arms before she even had the chance to reply.
After finally pulling out her keys, she unlocked the door and stepped inside quickly.
"Coming in?"
Holly nodded and soon found herself standing in the hallway. It took her a minute or so to adjust, but her surroundings soon looked familiar.
This was the house. The house she was having flashbacks of. It had to be. She'd never been to this part of town before, other than the time that she couldn't remember, and she didn't recognise any of the scenery on the way. But this house, she recognised everything.
"Holly?" Allisons words seemed distant as Holly was brought out of her thoughts
"S..Sorry. I was just thinking about something."
"Whats wrong?" she asked, gently grabbing a hold of Hollys hand.
Holly pulled away her hand sharply, starting Allison. She cleared her throat. "This house. I remember it. I don't remember anything about the drive here, I don't even recongise the outside. But I remember everything about the inside. I kept getting flashbacks of a house remember? Well, it's this one. This is the house."
Allison pulled her into the living room and the two of them sat down. Holly looked around the room and was filled with a sudden intense wave of emotions. She recognised this house so well it was almost like it could be her own.
"You mean, you remember? Thats a good sign right? Do you remember me?" she smiled, but it only made Holly angry.
She snatched my hand from Allison's grasp once more and pulled away. How dare she act like nothing had happened between them.
"No. I don't remember you. I remember this house, but that's not why I came. I didn't come to tell you I remembered you. Why would you care anyways? You left remember. I'm sorry I came here, it was a bad idea."
She stood up and hurried for the door. She knew it was a bad idea coming here and she was starting to wonder why the thought ever crossed her mind. Allison followed her out into the path, calling out her name.
"Why are you here? I'm sorry if I upset you."
"I shouldn't have came. I'm sorry, maybe the emotions of leaving just got the better of me."
"What? Leaving where?"
Shit. She wanted to kick herself in the face when she realised she'd put her foot in it. She hadn't came here to tell Allison was leaving, she just wanted closure and a chance to see her one last time.
Holly took a deep breath.
"I'm going back to England with Alex. So don't worry about seeing me in your classes again. I'll be out of your life, just the way you want it."
She got back into the car and drove off before Allison even had the chance to formulate a sentence. The thing that annoyed her most was that Allison had thought she had visited her because she suddenly remembered who she was. Even after everything that had happened between them, it was as though Allison still didn't realise how much Holly was hurting.
Alex was locking up and the bags were outside on the pathway as she arrived back at the house.
"All ready?"
"Ready as i'll ever be. If we don't go now, i'll never go back."
She helped him put the cases into the boot of the car and then Climbed into the passenger seat. Her seatbelt clocked into the buckle and she sunk back into her seat.
As they drove away, She watched the appartment disappear into the distance through the wing mirror. There were so many memories attached to that appartment, it was just a shame that She didn't remember a lot of them.
