The next few months were filled with the sounds of babies cries, lots of feeding and diaper changes and very, very little sleep. Because Allison was the one feeding Daisy, she always had to be awake whenever the baby was awake. Holly did her part and made sure she was awake too, because she felt bad leaving Allison to do everything alone.

It was a Thursday afternoon, and Holly was excited to be reunited with her brother. Alex had finally got some time off work, and he was on his way to America to meet his new niece.

"Holly I've told you a million times, watching out of the window is only going to make this wait so much longer." Allison watched from the doorway - baby resting on her shoulder, as the brunette sat in the window seat and stared out into the distance.

Holly was thrilled about Alexs visit, and she couldn't wait to see her big brother again. It had been so long, and they had so much to catch up on.

"I know." She sighed. "But his flight was supposed to get in half an hour ago, and I still haven't heard anything from him."

"Relax, babe. He probably just got delayed. I'm sure he'll be here soon."

Allison sat down on the couch and laid baby daisy across her knee. The infant was babbling and her wide brown eyes stared up at her mother. the blonde relaxed into the comfort of the couch and smiled down at her daughter. She felt as though Daisy had cried constantly ever since she brought the infant home. She worried something was wrong, or that she was doing something incorrect, but the midwife assured her after each visit that this was normal & that they were both doing a great job. Daisy began to get sleepy, her eyes struggling to stay open. Allison rubbed the infants cheek gently, willing her to sleep. Before long, her eyes were completely closed and Allison watched the rise and fall of her daughter's chest.
She was finally asleep. Peace at last.

"HE'S ON HIS WAY!" Holly shouted suddenly, jumping up from the chair she was sitting in as her phone chimed with Alex's message.

The infants cries echoed around the room and Allison scorned at her girlfriend.

"Thanks, babe. You woke Daisy!"

"Fuck, I'm sorry. Hey, Daisy." She called out reassuringly, crossing the room and scooping the baby up from Allison's lap.

"Your uncle is gonna be here any minute now, aren't you excited?" She rocked the infant gently, soothing her cries almost instantly.

Allison relaxed once more. She envied the brunette for being able to soothe their daughter so easily, but she couldn't complain. It was the best way to get their daughter to calm down.

The brunette sat on the arm of the chair and held Daisy close to her chest. Alex would be appearing any moment now, and she felt her heart begin to beat faster with excitement.

A couple of minutes later, a taxi pulled up outside of their home and Alex climbed out of the passenger side, grabbing his suitcase from the trunk and heading up the path towards the front door.

Holly handed Daisy over to Allison and ran for the front door, pulling it open just in time to see Alex coming up the front steps. With a cheesy grin plastered on her face, she kept forwards and rugby tackled her brother, knocking him to the ground. Allison watched the two of them from the window, struggling to contain her laughter. The two of them were like children.

"Hey, sis." Alex laughed, getting to his feet and dusting himself off.

Holly smiled and shook her head. "I can't believe you're finally here."

She stood by front door as Alex dragged his suitcase over the front step. He wasn't going to be staying at their home, but he had an Air BnB close by.

"So, where's the little beauty then?" He smiled, eager to meet his little niece.

"She's in here!" Allison called out from the living room. Alex entered first with Holly close behind him.

Daisy was in the Moses basket beside the couch, babbling to herself as she lay on her back. Alex knelt down beside the crib and smiled at the infant.

"Hey kiddo. Look at you!" He hovered his hand above her cautiously, frightened to touch her.

Holly sat down on the couch next to Allison. "You can pick her up, Alex." She laughed. "Oh, and don't be offended if she cries. She cries all the time so just know that she doesn't hate you"

Her brother laughed and then picked up the infant carefully. He made sure he had full support of her head, then made his way over the the chair by the window and sat down. Allison rubbed the small of the brunettes back lightly as she watched her smiling at her brother.
Alex had been reluctant to approve of their relationship in the beginning, what with Allison being Holly's ex-teacher and all. But he was thrilled to become an uncle and meet baby Daisy, and the look on his face showed just how proud he was.

Daisy was a small baby, but laying in Alexs arms made her look even smaller. He was over 6ft tall and quite muscular, and holding Daisy made her look like a tiny doll.

"She's the cutest thing I've ever seen." He laughed, stroking her head gently with his thumb. "Allison, she looks just like you."

"Yeah, I didn't get a look in." Holly scoffed. Although, she couldn't deny that having a miniture Allison wasn't great too.

"Oh please. She may look like me but it's you she loves the most. She cries for me all day and the moment you pick her up she stops crying and acts like an angel."

The brunette laughed. "That's because she is an angel, Allison. Just like me."
