When Holly woke up, she had forgotten where she was. Allison was still curled up asleep next to her and it took her a few minutes to adjust to her surroundings. She tried reaching for her jeans so that she could get her phone but it was too far away. Luckly, Allison's was on the bedside table and she was able to reach over to check the time.
It was 6:45pm. SHIT!
The two of them had been up talking until the early hours of the morning which is why they had slept so late. The whole day had passed by.
Holly shook Allison lightly until she woke.
"Allison. We gotta get up. It's almost 7pm!"
"W..What?" she mumbled, still half asleep.
"It's almost 7pm. We slept through the whole day!"
She bolted upright, almost ripping the young girls arm from her socket.
"SHIT!" she shouted.
"You just nearly broke my arm, Jesus."
"What if Alex knows where you are? Won't he come looking for you?"
"Chill, Allison. I'm almost 20. Besides, I told him exactly where I was going to be. The only thing I didn't tell him was that I wouldn't be home until night. I told him i'd Be back home in the morning. No doubt I have messages wondering where I am."
"And he didn't think it was weird? What if he realises what's been going on?"
"Relax. I have a girlfriend and Alex knows that. He won't suspect anything."
"Right..." Allison looked down at the floor as she heard Holly talk about Alya. She was upset, of course she was going to be.
Holly rubbed her arm sympathetically.
"You know, sometimes I think you're still 18." She said, quickly changing the question. It's hard to believe it's been so long."
"It's flown by, hasn't it. How can I be an adult when I still act like a kid, right?" Holly chuckled.
"Do you miss it?" she asked. "Everything's changed so much."
"Sort of, yeah. But everything changes doesn't it. I mean, I wish what happened didn't happen, and I guess it would've been great to finish college in America. But maybe this was supposed to happen, I don't know."
Holly laid back down beside Allison and stared at the ceiling. Truthfully, Holly really regretted missing out on that year of her life in America.
Allison rolled over onto her side and smiled at back at Holly. "You know, you never told me about what you want in the future. What do you want to do? What do you do for a living now?"
Holly thought for a while. There was many things she wanted to do. "I always wanted to be a Journalist, travelling the world and stuff. When I was younger, I always knew I was different because of the way I dressed and stuff like that. I wanted to be a tattooist and turns out I actually ended up with a job in my best friends Tattoo shop. My parents always told me I needed to get a 'proper job'. But they always supported me anyways."
"So that's where all the tattoos came from then." Allison smiled, outlining some of the designs with her finger.
"Yeah...you like?"
"I do, actually. I never really cared much for them but...you look hot with them."
Holly laughed. She loved that Allison still found her attractive.
"Well...thank you."
"I want kids too, of course." Holly continued, changing the subject back again. "Eventually. I wanna see the world first before I settle down but I couldn't think of anything better."
Allison gave her a heartwarming smile.
"Well, I wanted to be a teacher. Coincidentally. When I was little, I wanted to be a rally car driver but that's a different thing." she said, laughing."I don't know if I'll go back to teaching now. Maybe it's time for something different. Also, I want kids. Just like you. Maybe a boy and a girl, but either would be fine. You know, you don't look like the type of person to want kids, I always thought you were the type of person to do things on her own."
"What would you call your children?"
"For a boy, i've always liked the name Cole. And for a girl, Harper. You?
"I've always wanted to call my children Lennon, and Harley. Maybe one day."

It was Monday, and Ayla was on her way to visit. Holly had left Allison late on the Saturday night and the two promised to see each other before Allison left on Thursday. She was dredding it, she had no idea what she was going to say. Of course She was going to have to tell her, she just didn't know how. She hated the fact that she had kissed another woman whilst she had a girlfriend, and she knew she had to tell Ayla the truth.
"Are you sure? I mean, I love you, I really do. But, you're going to break her heart. Do you really want that?"
Holly was on the phone to Allison, terrified of the encounter with her girlfriend that was growing closer by the minute.
"Allison, I'm not a cheat. I know I betrayed her but I can't do this to her any longer. She's an amazing girl and she deserves someone who will treat her how she deserves to be treated. I need some time to think by myself, and I can't drag Ayla into this."
"I'll understand your decision, whatever it may be. Call me later.."
At around 2pm, there was a knock on the door. It was Ayla.
Holly took her bag from her hand and led her inside. Atla was excited to be home and Holly almost felt her heart break in two. She was excited for Christmas, so so excited. Her beaming smile lit up the whole room. How was she supposed to ruin it all now?
