Holly watched as Allison slept peacefully in front of her. Beside her girlfriend, in a tiny cot, lay their newborn daughter. The love of her life, and her child. The love she felt for the two of them was like a love she'd never felt before.

Watching Allison give birth had been horrible. Seeing Allison is so much pain was something she couldn't bare. But it was all over, and now they two of them lay peacefully in front of her, fast asleep. Her heart was so full she felt as though it might burst.

She sat in the room for a few hours, watching the rise and fall of the babys chest. She didn't have much hair, but the few strands that she did have were blonde just like Allisons. She had Allisons nose too, and her lips. Actually, she was just like a carbon copy of her mother. A teeny, tiny Allison.

"You don't have to stare at her all the time you know, she isn't going to disappear." Allison had woken from her sleep and found Holly staring at their daughter, almost in the same position as she had been when she first fell asleep.

The brunette laughed. She found it impossible to take her eyes off the baby.

"I know, I just can't believe she's here. This feels like a dream. Maybe if I look away, she won't be there when I look back."

"She isn't going anywhere, Holly. We get to spend the rest of our lives with her. How special is that?"

The sight of Holly being so infatuated with their daughter was almost too cute for Allison to handle. She'd seen Holly with Jamie, more than once. And she was great with him. But this was the first time she'd ever seen her around a newborn baby.

"Hold her if you like, she won't break."

Holly moved closer to the cot and picked up the newborn gently. Her floppy head brought nothing but fear to the brunette, she was worried that if she held her wrong she would hurt her. Daisy stirred a little, before setting back into her younger mothers arms peacefully. Her tiny nose twitched and she scrunched up her eyes. Holly smiled, a smile that reached from ear to ear.Allison watched the two of them and felt like crying. Her hormones were driving her crazy, and the cuteness was almost too much for her to handle.

"She looks just like you."

"You've already said that." Allison laughed.

"I know, but she really does. I can't believe it. Can you imagine how many people are going to chase her when she grows up? She's never leaving the house, never having a boyfriend or girlfriend."

Allison laughed one more and shook her head. "She's a matter of hours old and you're already planning out the rest of her life. No ones going to stand a chance with you are her mom, is she?"

"Not at all. She's never leaving my sight."

Later that day, Allison and baby Daisy were allowed to go home. It had been a mere 24hrs since she had been brought into the world, and it was tiny to start their new life at home. Holly had called Alex to let him know that his niece had entered the world and he was so excited to meet her. He promised to be on the first available flight out over the next few weeks so he could meet baby Daisy.

Holly had gone back home to collect everything she needed for Daisy. She walked back into the hospital with the carseat and went back to Allisons room. Holly had fussed over every little thing possible. What if the baby won't stop crying? How would they know if she was in pain? What if they couldn't get her to feed?

Both the nurse and Allison had laughed at the how cautious Holly was being, but she was thankful that she had such a caring mother. The nurse reasured her that these questions were normal, and that it would all fall into place naturally over the coming weeks. Strapping Daisy into the carseat, Allison picked up their bags and took a deep breath.

"You ready to leave? Because, once you leave this hospital room, theres no getting rid of either of us." She joked.

"You aren't getting rid of me, ever." Holly reassured her, giving her a kiss on her forehead.

With everything ready to go, Holly picked up the carseat carefully and the two of them headed to the exit. Holly walked ahead slightly, proud as punch of the little girl in the carryseat beside her. Everytime someone looked at the two of them, her heart burst with pride. She was so proud of her little family, and she wanted to show them off to anyone possible. Hanging behind slightly, Allison smiled and snapped a picture of her girlfriend and daughter.

They were finally getting the happy ending they deserved. They were finally leaving the hospital with their baby.

Back at home, Allison settled on to the couch with Daisy, while Holly made them a drink in the kitchen. When she returned, Allison was laying on the sofa with her knees propped up, her daughter laying on her back. She was awake now, and she was so adorable. The two of them laughed everytime she made a funny face, scrunching up her nose and eyes and opening her mouth for a big yawn.

Holly sat on the floor next to the couch, taking in the beauty of the two of them. She had never seen Allison so happy. She wanted to scoop both of them up and hold them in her arms forever.

"Can you pass me my cell, please? I gotta call my parents and announce their grandaughters arrival." Allison had been estranged from her family for a variety of reasons, but she had reached out to make contact shortly after she was pregnant. They were absent for a lot of her life, and she didn't want them absent from her daughters life too.

Allison passed Daisy over to Holly while she made the quick call to her parents. They couldn't wait to meet baby Daisy, and had agreed to come over for dinner once they had settled in as a family so they could meet the new addition. When the phonecall ended, Allison noticed that Holly looked a little upset.

"Hey, whats wrong? Talk to me."

"It's nothing, really. I just really wish my parents had got the chance to meet Daisy." She sniffled a little.

Allison rubbed her arm gently.

"I don't mean to make this a sad day. I'm sorry for letting it get to me. I just know how much they would've spoiled her. They would've bloody loved her Allison, and they would have loved you too."

Seeing her so upset made Allison feel guilty. Of course, she couldn't possibly feel guilty for both of her parents still being alive. But now that they were back in her life, she realised how much she had missed them. And she couldn't imagine how it must feel to not have the opportunity to pick up the phone and call them,

"They would have been so proud of you, Holly. After everything you've been through. You have so, so much to be proud of in your life. You've overcame so much which has made you the strong person that you are today. I'm sure wherever they are, they'll be so proud of you. I wish I got the chance to meet them, and I know that they'll never replace your own parents. But my parents love you just as much as I do, and they will always be here for you."

Holly wiped a tear away from her eye. She wasn't going to let her daughter see her cry. She looked down at the tiny baby in her lap and smiled. Her parents would have loved their grandaughter, and she knew that they would be so proud of her for being the mother of such a beautiful baby.

"You know kid, me and your mum will never ever be apart from you. You never have to worry about that. We've been waiting for you for so long, and we love you so much."

Allison smiled at her girlfriend. This was the life she had always dreamed of. And now she had it.
