All of a sudden I felt my car door open and I was woken up by someone throwing a cloth sack over my head, and I couldn't see what was going on, all I knew was I was being carried away by two people - one on each side of me.  They got me up some stairs and then stopped after walking into a room, it seemed.  Fearing for my child, I started to panic, worried that something dangerous might actually be happening to me, but then I realized I smelled a familiar cologne.  I sighed deeply in relief.

"What are you doing here, Finn!?" I asked calmly, but in total surprise.

"Bloody hell!  How DO you do it, Love?" he asked in disbelief.

"The nose knows, my friend" I told him.  "Now, can you PLEASE remove this from my head?"

"Well you're just a regular old spoil sport now aren't you?" Robert teased, removing the cloth as he was asked.

"Thank you" I said, seeing that we were on the private plane that Honor was having chartered to Las Vegas, and everyone was seated on board, including my mom, my friends, Honor and Colin.

"Wow...  What's...going on?  I feel like something big is about to happen..." I said, looking around from person to person.

"Welcome to phase two," Colin said.

"Phase two?" I asked.

"You said the plan wasn't enough, and you were right.  This is the part we planned behind your back..." Honor said excitedly with a smile.

I looked around at all of the conspirators.  "What the...?"

Logan was fumbling through his bag as panic was starting to set in.  He remembered he had put it in his bag, so where was it!?

"Everything okay over there?  You look like you lost something important?" Odette noticed with a laugh.

"Uhh, not exactly, no.  I just misplaced a paper from the office is all, but I'm sure it's nothing.  It'll turn up" he said, more to himself than to her.  He was freaking out about the repercussions of anyone on that plane aside from him finding that article.

Odette nodded.  "Maybe you didn't bring it with you?  Maybe you forgot it at the office, or at home?" She asked, seeming as if she were tying to be helpful.

He sighed.  "I could've sworn I'd brought it with me.  Ah, well, I guess there's no sense in worrying about office stuff while we're in Vegas anyway, right?" He asked.

She smiled again at him and nodded.  "Right.  We should be enjoying ourselves this weekend.  I know I plan to!" she said.

He nodded.  "I'm sure going to try.   So, your entourage looks like they're having a good time" he chuckled, seeing everyone passed out.

"They look like they've been pre-gaming pretty hard, huh?" she asked  with a laugh that lit up her entire face.  "Except each and every one of them is sober as can be, so this is just pathetic. I guess they're just resting up for tonight's festivities" she said.

He nodded.  She was actually being pleasant, which was strange in and of itself, but it didn't go unnoticed.  As horrible of an experience as he was dreading this weekend to be, he was grateful that she was not adding even more of a negative spin to it, causing it to be even worse.

"So how come you're still up?  You're going to be exhausted when we get there" he said.

She nodded and then she paused.  "Hey...  For what it's worth, I'm really sorry that I ruined your weekend" she said knowingly.

"Why do you think you ruined it?" He asked curiously.

"Well, because I did," she said matter-of-factly with a laugh.

He laughed too and nodded slowly.   "Yeah, a little bit" he said, but with a smile.

"So, for that I'm sorry.  I was jealous and competitive and somewhat angry, and I was taking it out on you, but it's not your fault.  I just made it seem like it was" she said softly.

Logan scratched his head.  "But why are you so angry that you thought crashing my bachelor party would be a good idea?" he asked, laughing again.

"I was afraid.  I knew you didn't want to marry me, and that you were only going through with it for your dad, and the future of his company.  I didn't like that you could just up and walk away at any time you decided I wasn't worth it, and I wanted to try to avoid the risk the inevitable scandal you and your friends would surely have, pawing all over random show girls in Vegas, because that would have been very hard for me." She whispered.

He wanted to deny that what she had said was true, but he couldn't lie to her.  "It's not like I don't know that it's the same reason you're marrying me, you know" he said.

She took a deep breath and nodded.  "And that's why I've been so angry.  My dad put me in the exact position I never thought he'd ever put me in.  It's the exact same situation that he and my mom were in thirty five years ago, and we all know that ended well" she said sarcastically.

"So then why are you going through with it, if you hate the idea of it so much?" he asked curiously.  This was the first time they had ever talked so candidly about the looming pressure over both of their heads.

"I just want to do the right thing by my father.  He and my brother are the two most important people to me in my family.   I have a duty to make sure they have a great legacy set" she said.

He nodded, understanding all too well about making good on the impending 'duty' that the families have all set up.

Odette yawned and he could see her fading fast.  "Get some sleep.  We can talk more later" he promised.  She nodded and fell asleep soon after.  He smiled.  "Goodnight, Odette" he whispered with a smile, draping a blanket over her shoulders tenderly.
