Chapter 11

I waited for a few seconds before she took hold of my hand. We walked up to Alex's hospital room hand in hand. "What it's taking him so long?" I heard Like all as I opened the door just a crack.

"Who is that? Do you have the right room?" She asked as I laughed.

"That was Luke Hemmings his girlfriend is the one who is in the hospital. She was supposed to have twins but she had a miscarriage for one of them and is now only having one baby." I said filling her in on the situation.

"That's so sad."She said as I pushed the door open. Everyone was talking until Taylor walked in, then everyone got quiet and turned to look at us.

"Everyone this is Taylor, Taylor this is Luke, Zayn, Alex, Liam, Niall, Calum, Michael, Ashton, Louis, Jassalyn, and Grace." I said all in one breath.

"Nice to meet you guys!" Taylor said smiling and extending her hand to shake everyone's hand.

"Harry did you get me my pajamas?!"Alex asked clearly impatient.

"Ahhh yeah they are in the target bag." I said handing the bag to Luke. "Oh yeah and I got you guys some chips and stuff to eat." I said throwing the bag at Niall who was now talking to Taylor.

ALEX'S POV

Why does everyone have to bring these girls to meet everyone for the first time in the hospital. Like this is an overwhelming amount of people in my hospital room. "Luke will you help me?" I asked as I slowly got out of bed. Luke quickly got up and slowly helped me walk to the bathroom.

"What do you think of Harry's new lady friend?" Luke asked as I started to laugh but then stopped because of the pain.

"I think there is too many people in the room to be honest." I said as there was a knock on the door.

"Yeah?" Luke asked as he opened the door. "Ashton what do you need?" He said as Ashton shoved his way through the door.

"I had to get out of there. It is getting way too crowded." he said as Luke kind of laughed.

"So why are you in here as I am getting dressed?" I said pulling on my pants.

"Well there is no where else I can go... And it's not like I haven't seen that before...." Ashton said as our eyes widened.

"EXCUSE ME!" Luke shouted as Ashton quickly ran out of the room. "Care to explain?" he said turning towards me and crossing his arms over his chest he was clearly mad at the thought of Ashton and I.

"Luke it happened before we even knew each other I mean for God's sake he was the one who introduced us! I could understand why you'd be mad if it happened after we got together but it was about three months before we met." I said as Luke went all dramatic putting his hands on the counter and looking at the floor then slowly looking into the mirror at me.

"Please tell me you two didn't do anything...." He said clearly not ready for the answer.

"I want to say no Luke I honestly do but then I would be lying to you and you deserve to know the truth." I said as I say down on the toilet.

"But why would you not tell me before? Why does this just have to come up now why not two years ago when we met?" Luke said turning around and looking at me. You v never would have noticed if you didn't look close enough but he had a tear that was rolling down his cheek. I never knew it would hurt him this much.

"I didn't want to hurt you! But I see that I hurt you by putting it off. I should have told you sooner I realize that now. I'm sorry." I said trying to hold back my tears.

"Clearly it's going to hurt me Alex. I just found out that my girlfriend and my best friend used to date. how long did you even date for a few months?" He asked as I knew he wasn't going to like the answer.

"A few years I said as Luke slammed his hands on the counter. I knew everyone could hear us but I don't know if Luke even remembers whet we are at at this point.

"Damn it Alex!" he said clearly getting more and more angry. "How has this never come up I mean seriously!" Why is he yelling at me?

"I don't understand why you are so mad! Luke it was like three years ago! It's not like we are going to get back together again." I said starting to cry. "Don't you understand that I'm having YOUR kid, not Ashton's. You're the one. Not Ashton." I said as my eyes went wide.

"Wh-what did you say? I'm the one?" Luke said a smile playing on his face.

"I ahh I said you're the one. I mean I know you're only 18 and I'm only 17 but I can see us one day getting married and raising a family so that this little baby can have brothers and sisters. And then someday, when the kids are older and have left the house, I picture us growing old together. taking that last breath together like in the notebook." I said as Luke walked closer to me.

"Alex I know we are only teenagers trying to figure out how we all fit in in this world and there is no one I would rather be figuring things out with then you. And to be honest I have been wanting to do this for a long time, I just never knew when the l right time was. Anyways." Luke said getting down on one knee and pulling out a little velvet box out of his pocket. "Alex Marie Johnson will you marry me?"
