The Pregnancy

Chapter Eight

"What?" He asked coming closer to me laying on the bed.

"I don't want to look...  What if there is and I loose the baby! Luke I'm not ready for this. I know we said in the beginning that this is the worse surprise that we have gotten in a long time but its the best one I have gotten in a really long time. I was really stating to look forward to be a mom. I'm not ready to give up my baby. I just got her I'm not ready to give her up." I cried as Luke had a hand on the sheet getting ready to lift it up.

"Wait... You mean him. You don't want to give HIM up." Luke said as I rolled my eyes.

"Really... That's what you find important right now..." I said as I felt a strong pain.

"OW!!" I said as I felt extreme abdominal pain.

"Alex! Are you okay?" Luke said pulling the blanket off of me. "Oh..." Luke said pulling a shaky hand to his mouth.

"What? Is there a under formed baby fetus? Is there blood?" I said starting to freak out.

"C-calm down... There is nothing to worry about." Luke said pulling out his phone.  

"Who are you calling?" I said starting to freak out.

"ASHTON!" He shouted through the phone.  There isn't anything to worry about, I kept trying to tell myself as he was waiting for Ashton to respond.

"What!?" He said putting the phone on speaker. Now he has Ashton freaking out.

"How fast can you get here?" Luke said as my eyes got wide.

"Ahhhh in about... 45 minutes." He said starting to calm down.

"WE DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR HIM TO COME HERE!" I shouted as Ashton started to get confused.

"Well what do you want me to do? I don't know Alex! I am scared, you are scared and this impairs my ability to think to judge the situation!" Luke said starting to freak at me.

"Take me to the hospital! This is not supposed to be happening! Luke I'm scared and you need to be here for me to keep me from freaking out!" I said as he started looking around trying to figure out what to do.

"Meet us at the hospital!" he said hanging up the phone. He swooped me up in one move and ran down the stairs. He carried me to the car and set me in the passenger seat with a towel laid under me, He drove to the hospital as fast as he could, scaring me with his speed.

"Luke slow down!" I said Gripping onto the arm rest and the side of the seat. "I know you just want to get there but if we crash that is going to cause you to have to go to the hospital." I said looking over at him for the first time. "For gods sake Luke! PUT ON YOUR SEATBELT!!" I shouted as he started to slow down.

"I have NO time for that! We are almost at the hospital!" He shouted at me as I started to cry. Why does this always happen to me at the wrong times.

"Oh Alex.. Please stop crying." Luke said grabbing my hand and squeezing it comfortingly.

"Luke can you please put your seat belt on." I said starting to calm down. I closed my eyes and felt the car start to pull over. I opened my eyes to see the car on the right side of the road. I looked over and saw Luke trying to put on his seat belt but he was getting too mad, I reached over and pulled it over his shoulder. and let him do the rest.

"Thank you." He said holding out his hand waiting for me to grab it. I put my hand in his and let my fingers find their way in between his. "I'm sorry." He said only looking forward at the road.

"What?" I said getting confused.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry you have to go through this. I'm sorry that I started this and now you have to go through this heartache of loosing a child only at 17 years old." He said as I saw a tear slip down his face. I took my thumb and wiped away his tear.

"It's not your fault. It's not anyone's fault. Clearly this wasn't supposed to happen. This whole idea of a family at 17 wasn't going to work out like we thought it was. It was going to be hard, and undoable. We were going to make mistakes, screw up, and in the end our kids might have hated us. We would want to be their friend, we would try, but they would just push us away not realizing how much it hurt us. We would fight with each other and with the kids and it wouldn't be fun. Our relationship might not work out with that." I said as he pulled into the hospital parking lot.

"You know I love you no matter what happens right?" Luke said kissing my hand before I saw Ashton running over to the car with a girl following him.

"I love you too." I said as my door flung open and I was picked up and being rushed into the hospital.

"HELP!" Ashton said as all the nurses just kind of stood there.

"Sir you need to calm down." A nurse said walking over to us as  Luke and the girl who came with Ashton walked through the doors.

"Please help. I think she is having a miscarriage." He said as I was put on a gurney and wheeled into a hospital room.

"We just need to wait awhile and  wait to see what happens if nothing happens we will take an ultrasound and see if anything is still in there." The nurse said walking out.

"Well she was friendly." I joked as Luke climbed in the bed with me.

"What more could you ask for." The girl joked. I like her, she is funny,

"So Ashton are you going to introduce us?" I asked smiling at the beautiful girl he was flirting with. Playing with her hair watching her smile and talk and smiling like they were the only ones in the room.

"Oh! Guys this is Grace! Grace this is Luke and Alex!" He said as she smiled, she even has an amazing smile!

"Hi." She said starting to blush out of nervousness.

"So how did you guys meet?" Luke asked smiling at me.

"Well we were childhood friends. I moved to town in third grade and no one would talk to me until this doof came up to me at lunch and sat with me. He made me laugh so hard milk came out m nose! We were friends until 6th grade when my dad got a new job and we had to move. We lost contact and just found each other again!" She said as the nurse came in with an ultrasound into the  room.

"This may be cold." She said lifting up my shirt and squeezing the gel onto my stomach.

"Oh! That is cold." I said as everyone started to giggle at me. She sat there rubbing the thing around looking at the monitor for awhile. "Well... Is there still a baby?"
