Chapter 4 - (PART TWO)

“Todd, What flavor do you want?”, I smiled, reaching for the wad of money in my back pocket.
“They taste the same.”, Todd looked at me expectantly with those beautiful eyes.
“Well, fine. Which color do you like better?”
Todd stared at the two colors and contemplated this life-changing choice.
“I think I’ll take blue. Blue’s a boy’s color.” Todd cheered
I laughed and dug my hand deeper into my back pocket, but realized my money was gone. Sure, it was only twenty dollars. But it was still money nonetheless.
Panic washed over me as I stared openly at the man in front of me. He looked at me with a bored expression on his face, palm outstretched, waiting for my money.
“I-uh. This is really embarrassing but um-“
I was interrupted as I heard a deep voice come up behind me. “I’ve got this.” A hand reached over right by me and plopped five dollars on the counter. The man narrowed his eyes at us. A hand snaked down to my butt and patted it as he wrapped his other toned arm around my waist and dragged me closer to his chest. The light scent of lemons enveloped my senses.
“She’s my girlfriend after all.” Going completely wide-eyed and about to slap this stranger across the face for being crazy, I whirled around.
Only to find it was a Reese boy. But of course.
“Clay, I don’t remember saying it was okay for you to-“, he covered my mouth roughly with his hand.
“Thank you for the cotton candy…Sir.”, He smirked down at me.
I rolled my eyes and pushed him away. He laughed it off and called out, “oh and one more large-sized pink cotton candy, also!”
By now, everyone was growing impatient, restless, and considerably pissed off.
A plump man and his daughter were angrily glaring at us from a few feet away.
The cotton candy man handed us our three cotton candies. Two blues and one pink.
Clay grabbed his and waited as I got mine and handed Todd his cloud of blue cotton candy.
I thanked the man for his patience and as we walked away from the booth, Clay pulled a total Reese move and patted my butt again. Only this time, I turned around and slapped him.
Unfortunately, he caught my hand. “Whoa there tiger, I was just enjoying the view!”, he laughed.
“That’s not funny. Hands off the property!”, I tried to sound serious. But a smile fought its way to my lips.
“Oh, so it’s property now?”
“Indeed it is.”, I took another huge bite of cotton candy, covering my smile.
“How much could I rent it for?”, He winked and laughed, waving at almost every girl that walked by him.
They all giggled at him and waved, enviously eyeing the pink cotton candy he kept shoving into his mouth.
I gagged. “If you’re done with whatever you’re doing, maybe you could actually be useful and help me and Todd find the rides? I can’t see anything from here, there’s too many stands.”
Clay ignored me and went over to talk to some girl in a mini skirt and a non-existent shirt. ‘Might as well have just came in your birthday suit’, I thought.
