I drove home angrily, thinking about what just happened.
What did he want? More importantly, why the hell would he attack me to tell me. It was kind of weird.
Whatever, I had more important things to think about. Like the coffee date with Beth at 5, what time was it anyways? "Shit" I mumbled, it was 4:30.
Should I go home and change? Yeah that sounds like a good idea.
I drove faster than needed and got home at 4:34, I parked the car in the driveway and sprinted inside. Bad idea, my knee screamed in pain and my head throbbed. I threw open the door and stomped inside.
"Mom I'm home!" I yelled before limping upstairs.
I barely heard her muffled reply as I slammed the door to my room. I went into my bathroom and gasped in surprise. I look like I got hit by a bus.
My hair was a mess, my bun was half unraveled and flyaway strands stuck out everywhere. My clothes were covered in grass stains and dirt, I had a huge bruise on my forehead where I head butted Josh and a scratch that started by my eye and went down to the middle of my cheek.
Great.
I stripped down to my bra and underwear and went to my closet to figure out what to wear. I decided on light pink short shorts and a white navy blue striped T-shirt.
I went into the bathroom, brushed out my hair and put it into a high pony tail. I took a damp washcloth and scrubbed the grass stains and dirt off of my arms and legs. I covered up the bruise and scratch then reapplied my mascara, lipgloss, and eyeliner.
"Oh great" I mumbled, I had scratches all over my legs and bruises forming on both my arms and legs.
I checked my phone it was now 4:50. I guess there was nothing I could do about the scratches on my arms and legs. I grabbed my Coach handbag and said goodbye to my parents.
When I got to my driveway I saw Josh leaving his house. I ran to my car, got in, and backed out of the drive way before he could even see me.
I got to Starbucks before Beth and ordered green teas for both of us, as I waited I looked out the window, I couldn't help but daydream about Brady. He was hot there was no denying it. His hair was perfect too. What? It's hard to find a guy who spends a lot of time on his hair.
When will he ask me on a date?
I couldn't wait forever.
"Hey Mel!" Came a voice from behind me.
"Hey Beth, how are you?" I said getting up to give her a hug.
"I'm great, how about you? Is that a bruise?" She said pointing to the badly concealed bruise on my forehead.
"Yeah, Josh kind of ran me over" I said, scratching the back of my head.
"With his car!? Did he apologize?."
"Well he didn't run me over with his car, he body checked me like a hockey player... Twice." I said, holding up two fingers for emphasis.
"What?! Why?" She said, the shock clear in her voice.
"I honestly don't know, he said he needed to tell me something but never did."
"That's weird. You shou-"
*Ring ring ring*
"I have to take this" Beth said apologetically.
"It's ok, I think I have to go anyways."
"See ya babe" Beth said.
We hugged and I walked out to my car.
Well that was fun.
The drive home was uneventful and when I got home I changed into sweats and went down for dinner with my parents.
"Hey Mel, let me dish you up quick," my mom said, scooping spaghetti onto my plate.
"Thanks, mom," I said.
"So how was school?" She asked, setting her plate next to my father.
"It was ok, pretty lame if you ask me." I grumbled, twirling my spaghetti on my fork.
"Really? I always thought the first day of school was exciting! But I guess you are a senior and too cool for school," she laughed.
"Something like that," I smiled.
"Did you see the Weatherly's moved back?" My father said, joining the conversation.
"Yup," I said popping the 'P'.
"That's exciting, I should make cookies to bring over to them!" My mother suggested.
"No mom, I think they will be ok without cookies," I sighed, "Well I'm gonna head up to bed, I will see you in the morning."
"But you barely ate anything! and it's only 7:00," my mom protested as I put my plate in the sink.
"Goodnight," I waved behind me.
I jogged up the stairs slowly, and painfully, then took a shower.
Right when I hit my mattress I fell asleep, being tackled really drains you.
