Mel's POV

When I got home tears were streaming down my face, my parents weren't up yet. Thank god, I didn't want them to see me like this. I ran upstairs and started my hot shower.

It was now 6:03, school started in two hours and seven minutes. I stepped into the hot shower and just let the water pour over me. After I washed my hair and conditioned it I stepped out, what was I going to wear?

I wrapped myself in a towel and walked to my closet. I ended up choosing a light blue flowing tank top with a pocket near the top, white short shorts, and sandals with a brown bottom and blue top.

I dried my hair and decided to straighten it. My hair was naturally curly so straightening it took around twenty five minutes. I put on mascara and did eyeliner wings, then I applied a light coat of foundation and lightly shaded on my blush. I was ready to go.

I checked my phone, I actually had a text? I bet it was just Beth.

Hey -Brady

Hey how are you? :) -Mel

Good, are you ready for English? She said that she was going to introduce our first project. -B

Really? On the second day of school? Is she even allowed to do that? -M

Well she did so. Anyways I have something to ask you at school -B

What? -M

Its a secret ;) -B

Ugh, I hate secrets :( -M

Too bad ;) -B

I checked the time.

I gotta get going c u at school -M

Bye! -B

I grabbed my keys and ran upstairs to eat breakfast. Both my parents were sitting at the table chatting.

"Good morning" I said as I walked to the fridge, I grabbed a grapefruit and went to the counter to cut it.

"Good morning" they answered at the same time.

"Melissa, can you please sit down there's something we want to talk to you about"

Oh great.

"Sure mom" I said reproachfully.

"As we talked about earlier, Josh and his family moved back. I just wanted to check and see how you were doing with it. I just remember him giving you a hard time in middle school," she said cautiously.

Oh now she remembers.

"I'm fine with it" I lied "I am stronger than I was when I was in eighth grade, I mean I'm going to be eighteen in a couple months."

My mom eyed me suspiciously.

"Are you sure? I don't want him hurting you again" my dad added.

"Yeah I'm sure" I said, making sure I sounded confident.

"Ok, have a great day at school and we will see you when you get home"

"Love you guys!" I called behind my shoulder.

"We love you too!" They replied in unison.

I drove to school, all excited for what Brady wanted to tell me.

When I got to the school parking lot I saw Brady getting out of his car too.

"Perfect timing!" I yelled across the parking lot.

When Brady saw me his face lit up.

"Hey!" he said as he was jogging over to me.

"So... What did you want to tell me?" I said trying to be casual.

"Oh yeah" he said all of a sudden looking shy "I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out sometime?" He asked, a bright pink color rising on his cheeks.

Finally. Should I say yes? He was a really sweet guy, I guess I should just give him a chance. Oh who am I kidding? I was ecstatic.

"I would love to," I replied casually

"Great, do you like movies?" He asked.

"Yes, actually I love movies," I said, I couldn't stop smiling.

"Great I'll pick you up tonight?"

All I could do was nod, I was honestly speechless.

Did that really just happen?

School didn't even register for me, three teachers yelled at me for not paying attention. What could I say? I was super pumped for tonight, who knows. I might even kiss him.
