9 MONTHS LATER

"Come on Mel one more giant push you can do it!" Beth yelled.

She had insisted on being there for my delivery since I had insisted on being at hers.

Beth had given birth to a beautiful baby girl named Zoe, Noah had never returned from spring break and we later found out that he had moved to Arizona. Beth found being a single mother really hard at first, but with my support and guidance she was finally starting to get the hang of it.

I grit my teeth and pushed with all of my might.

The sound of my baby's crying filled the room, and I couldn't help but smile. Thank god! I don't know how much more pain I would have been able to take.

After nine months of stretch marks and cankles my baby was finally here. I was 19 years old, call me what you want but I vowed to be the best mother I could for this child.

"It's a girl!" I heard Josh say.

Doctor McNeal placed a little bundle of blankets on my chest, and I gazed down into my babies milky blue eye's.

"She's beautiful," I whispered. And she really was.

"What should we name her?" Josh asked.

I wanted something Unique.

"How about Scarlett?" I offered.

Josh beamed, "Scarlett is perfect."

"Hi Scarlett, welcome to our crazy family."

3 months later.

I was going to college at Harvard, and I was doing really well. In the day I would drop Sarlett off at daycare and pick her up after my classes.

I couldn't stand not seeing her for more than an hour, and often spent the class daydreaming about playing with her or taking her for stroller runs.

Josh was going to Northeastern university in Boston, which happened to be 3 miles away.

We lived in a small apartment, but still managed thanks to Josh's parents sending monthly checks. My parents were not happy with me getting pregnant and only offered to pay for college, which was fine with me, it was expensive as it is.

I worked at the local gym and Josh worked at the grocery store, I guess you could say we were doing just fine.

College graduation was only three years away and I had a couple of banks interested in a loan for my gym. They were impressed to hear that I was a teen mom who still managed to keep a 3.7 GPA at Harvard, and work at the gym off to the side.

"How do you do it?" They ask.

"I never sleep," I explain, laughing.

Oh and remember that guy from the plane? His name is Bahram Akradi, and he is the founder of Lifetime Fitness. We stayed in touch, and he has taught me a lot about running my own gym. He told me that it will be rocky at first but he has faith that my business will succeed.

Brady, the idiot he is, raped someone else and was sent to jail. I don't know for how long but I don't care, He is just a dark past now.

As a child, I thought I would hate Josh Weatherly for the rest of my life. Never once did I ever imagine I would have a child with him.

"Mel? Can you come here for a second?" Josh asks me from across the room.

"Yeah hold on a sec, I was just day dreaming" I say. More like reliving my whole childhood.

I get up and walk to the living room where my boyfriend is and see Josh kneeling in rose petals. Scarlett is sitting on his knee and she is holding a little black box. Tears of joy start to form in my eyes, threatening to spill over.

"Mel will you marry me?"

I look from him to my baby to the ring and smile, a single tear spills over my eyelid and runs down my cheek.

"Yes."
