Chapter 10

Today was Saturday, which meant I got to sleep in until 7 before my run. When my alarm went off I got dressed and went out. It was starting to get cold, a clear sign that fall was around the corner.

This time, I found myself looking for Josh.

You fool, he isn't going to come after you this time.

When I got back I showered, brushed my teeth and blow dried my hair. I wasn't blessed with perfectly clear skin, so I used liquid and powder concealer to cover up my acne. I was also the queen of applying liquid eyeliner. I loved anything make up and fashion related.

I put on a little bit of mascara, and some blush, I knew exactly how to make my skin glow. I was all ready for my date with Brady. I was so excited!

What if he kisses me? Would I kiss back?

Of course you would, but you know it would be Josh you were thinking about.

That's not true I argued with myself.

I'm going crazy.

It was only 9 by the time I was done getting ready and Brady was picking me up at noon. He had texted me earlier explaining that they were going to have a movie marathon at his house and to dress in lounging clothes.

The outfit that I had picked out earlier worked out perfect! After I French braided my hair and put in my earrings I was already to go.

I ran downstairs to get breakfast and talk to my parents.

Every morning for breakfast I either had a smoothie or just plain fruit with some toast with peanut butter. I had always loved peanut butter and wasn't about to let losing weight get in the way of me eating it.

I hadn't cut out most of the bad foods, she just ate them in moderation. I also loved chocolate.

I hoped that Brady would be the type of guy who would surprise me with chocolate hearts and other sweets. I just loved all junk food in general.

"Hi dad" I said surprised he was still here. Every weekend he and a bunch of guy friends would go out to golf until the weather was too cold to go anymore.

"Hey Mel, I bet your surprised to see me here." He chuckled "Yeah we changed the meeting time to 11:30 so I'm just going to chill here for a while.

"Cool, well I was just going to make breakfast, do you want something?"

"No I'm good, I already had some of your mothers pancakes" he said rubbing his stomach in content.

"Ok," I grabbed an apple and ran to my room to waste time.

After four episodes of Friends it was almost time for Brady to pick me up.

I checked my phone it was 11:30, and I had a text from Brady.

On my way -B

Ok I'm ready, I will be waiting outside when you get here :) -M

I walked outside and sat on the bench in front of my house. I remember how I would always sit here as a child watching the bees pollenate the flowers and the flower petals fly in the wind. Sometimes I missed being a kid, no worries, no stress over college, and no stress to be perfect. Everything was just easy.

A big black pickup pulled into my driveway, I saw Brady through the window and smiled. My stomach was in knots!

He saw me and smiled back, as I was walking to his truck he got out and opened the door for me.

"Thank you" I said blushing a little bit.

He nodded and smiled. His jaw was perfect and his blue eyes were sparkling.

On the way to his house we chatted about our interests and other hobbies.

His favorite color was green, he told me "like your eyes."

I couldn't help but blush, he was such a sweet guy.

I told him about being on the cross country team this year, and found out that he was on the varsity football team. Starting quarterback.

We turned off onto what seemed like an abandoned road. We drove for a little bit then turned onto a gravel drive way, the scenery was beautiful, trees all different shades of green lined the path.

Suddenly we pulled into a clearing with what seemed to be the biggest house in the world. It was a beautiful dark brown with stone work all over, there were five garage doors and four had a car in it.

"Holy shit is this your house?" I asked incredulously.

he chuckled, "yeah it is the upsides of having a neurosurgeon and a lawyer as parents." he chuckled.

"That would make sense" I said cracking a smile.

He pulled into the open garage and helped me out of the car. Inside was even more beautiful than outside, if that was even possible. It had a very classy look to it and there was white marble on every table. Statues and famous paintings  of every color and genre lined the walls.

He led me downstairs to a huge movie room, there were ten rows of comfortable chairs, a big glass case covered the back wall holding thousands of movies. Since it was only 12:30 and I had to be home at 10:00 we chose four movies and started right away.

He made popcorn and sank into the chair next to me. "I love this movie!" We were watching Monsters Inc. Pretty childish but we both loved animated movies.

He handed me the bowl and I took a small handful, I knew my limits.

I turned to him and looked at his bright blue eyes. His hair made them look even brighter than they were, he was perfect.

He glanced over at me and smiled.

After our three movies ended it was time for me to leave, and as we were walking out to his car he grabbed my arm. Just his touch sent chills up my spine, I looked back at his kind eyes.

"I... I just wanted to say that I really like you" he said blushing.

"I like you too," I whispered.

Next thing I knew we were kissing, slowly and passionately. Our lips fit perfectly. He licked my bottom lip and I let him in, his tongue flicked in my mouth and danced with mine. This was perfect. We were melting into each other, and I never wanted it to end. All thoughts of Josh disappeared.

He pulled away, making me pout. He chuckled.

"Mel, will you be my girlfriend?"

"Of course."

He smiled and opened the door for me.

I, Melissa Heft, had a boyfriend. A perfect, magical, dreamy boyfriend.
