This blew, I can't believe I was sick.
All week I had stomach cramps, headaches and I hadn't been able to keep anything down.
My sickness had taken up most of week two, but I wasn't going to let that stop me from having fun.
"Do you want to go for a walk?" I asked Josh.
I was lying in bed with him sitting next to me.
"I don't think your bones would be able to support you," he replied.
"Is that a fat joke?" I laughed trying to get up.
Josh nudged me back down with a finger.
"No, what I'm saying is you are too sick and too thin to move," he said protectively.
"Fine then I'm going to call Beth, hand me my phone please." I ordered, holding out my hand expectantly.
He just chuckled and handed me the phone.
It only rang twice before Beth answered.
"Hello?"
"Hey Beth, how are you?" I asked.
"Ok I guess, Noah still hasn't called," she replied sadly.
When Noah found out she was pregnant, he left for spring break and hadn't talked to her since.
"Don't worry he will come around, how are you health wise?"
"Ugh I feel awful, but its getting better now that I'm nearing my second trimester," she said.
"What was the first trimester like?" I wondered.
"Oh Mel, it was terrible! I had stomach cramps, migraines, and I threw up almost everything that I ate," She explained.
Oh shit.
"Beth I'm gonna need to call you back," I said quickly hanging up before she could even reply.
"Josh I need to go to the store!" I suddenly exclaimed, making him jump.
"I just went Mel." Josh replied, casually paging through a magazine.
"But I really need something!" I desperately argued.
"Just tell me and I will go get it for you," he offered.
"No it's something I need to get on my own," I insisted.
He sighed, "fine but I'm driving."
I clapped my hands happily and started to get up slowly. I winced, my body was in so much pain.
Josh came and supported my back until I was fully out of bed. I nodded gratefully.
We shuffled to the car and Josh carefully lifted me into the passenger seat. His face was full of concern, it was understandable. I had lost 5 pounds since I had gotten sick. My face looked gaunt and you could see my ribs, I wasn't going to lie. It was bad.
We drove to the store in a pained silence, I was so nervous my palms were sweating.
I told Josh to wait in the car, with great protest, and carefully opened the door to the store.
I went up to the front counter and asked the lady where I could find what I needed.
She gave me the updown but nodded and led me to what I was searching for. I grabbed what I needed, payed, then left.
Josh looked at me expectantly but I just stared out of the window in a daze. Dear God, please help me get through this.
