I walked into school on Monday dreading the events of the day. I made my way over to Josh's locker and waited for him to arrive.
"Hey Mel," I looked up to see Josh walking towards me.
"Hey," I said excitedly wrapping him in a big hug.
I still couldn't believe that we are dating.
"How are you? You look nervous," he said with a worried look.
"I'm fine," I lied.
I was going to see Brady today.
"You are not fine, tell me what's wrong." He insisted.
"Fine... I haven't seen Brady since, y-you know the party..." I trailed off and couldn't bring myself to finish the sentence.
"Hey, Mel look at me" he whispered puling my chin up.
"You will be ok, I promise. You are strong and I swear to god if that bastard touches you I will beat his face in," he said with a look of hatred in his eyes.
I blinked a few times at those words then smiled and kissed Josh softly.
"Thank you, I will see you later ok?" I said sadly.
He chuckled and pulled me into one more big bear hug.
"See you later Mel," he said.
I watched his retreating figure and sighed. I guess I have to go to first hour now.
Since we were nearing the end of the school year, our teachers were being extra hard on us with class work.
Final exams were in four weeks and then our senior year was over. I hated the thought of leaving all of my friends to go to college while I stayed behind and opened my own business.
I had been working extra hard and had earned myself three raises at Lifetime. I was already picking out plots and contacting real estate agents.
The only thing left to do was calculate how much the equipment and decoration would cost then get a bank loan for whatever money I needed.
I took my seat and faced the board, I needed to focus extra hard to keep my straight A's. The only thing that would help with the Fitness center was to keep straight A's and to take all of the business classes possible.
Three minutes later the teacher came in and class was started. As far as I knew Brady wasn't here today.
I was busy taking notes so I didn't even notice when the door opened.
"Mr. Rowe you're late!" The teacher said in an agitated voice,
I looked up to see Brady standing at the front of the room holding a note.
He looked terrible, he had a back eye and a split lip. Did Josh really hurt him that bad?
He thrust the note at the teacher and trudged to the open seat in the back of the room.
I could feel his eyes bearing holes in the back of my head.
Finally after what seemed like hours the bell rang. I sprang out of my seat and began making my way towards the door, I needed to get away from him. Right as I was about to walk through it I felt someone grab my arm. When I saw who it was I let out a little shriek.
"Let go of me," I demanded, my voice came out almost a whisper though.
"No, I need to talk to you." Brady said boldly, no sign of fear in his voice.
"There is nothing to talk about, now LET GO OF ME!" I said a little bolder, he didn't listen. His grip tightened and he pulled me through the nearest door heading outside.
