(Jane's POV)

Things have really gotten out of hand. The events that are happening are similar but not exactly the same.

That being the case, how can I be sure if preventing his sanity from breaking is even possible?

"Jane, didn't I tell you not to get involved with those three?" My dad scolded.

"B-but it wasn't my fault! They assaulted me!" I tried to explain.

"You should've known better to not fight back." I heard Jeff's mom scold Jeff.

"This wasn't the first impression I planned to make. I'm very sorry about all this." My mom apologized to Jeff's parents.

We were all in Jeff's living room, talking about the situation. The moment that officer told us that we were in trial, I had to call my parents as well. Now we look like were in some sort of family meeting.

"Oh, it's fine. You don't need to worry about it. I'm more worried about these two kids. I never imagined how troublesome those bullies could be." Jeff's mom replied.
Her and my mom seemed to get along, even before. Our dads on the other hand are quiet and timidly staring at each other.

I was nervously playing with my fingers under the table. I was in between Jeff and Liu. We all felt the tension between our parents.

"Well, how do we plan on dealing with this?" My dad asked.

"Like that officer said, if our kids are telling the truth then there would be no problem. But I believe it would be hard to provide evidence if we had no witnesses." Jeff and Liu's dad answered.

I just sighed.

Who knew changing one detail could ultimately change a lot of things?

It's called the Butterfly Effect, Jane.

Well, if you already knew this would happen why didn't you prepare for it?

Look, we're the same person. Ok? So the only one you could blame here would be yourself.
Jill warned you already didn't she? That's what you get for being careless.

Wow. I am such a smarta**. Even to myself. Now I know how Jeff feels when I keep correcting him.

=_=

"Hey, it's alright. You can get through this." Liu put an arm to my shoulder as a sign of reassurance.

"Yeah. Thanks." I hid my face in my palms. This whole catastrophe is causing me a headache.

"Are you ok?" I heard Jeff ask from the sidelines.

"I'm fine, just a little sleepy." I excused.

"Why don't you sleep on my shoulder again?" Jeff offered Liu seemed surprised of his brother's actions.

Uhmmm my parents are here... I still want to live. Thank you very much.

"No thanks." I responded.

"You didn't seem to have a problem with it when we went home." He retorted.

"Well, that was unintentional ok? I didn't mean to use you as a pillow." I crossed my arms. Smug b*stard

"Do you want some water then?" Liu offered this time.

"Sure." I was feeling thirsty anyway. He nodded and left to get me some water.

"At least one of you is hospitable." I commented.

"I was never the generous type anyway." Jeff shrugged. I rolled my eyes. He's still the same Jeff alright.
