Okay so it's been a while and I have no clue what to do about this series. And from what I remember, I left a chapter 4 that was finished but when I came back apparently its been deleted, and the thing is I can't retrieve the original Chapter 4 and my memory isn't good enough to remember the details of what I wrote. So I decided to just republish this version instead, sorry for the inactivity.

(Jane's POV)

Today's events weren't ideal. After arriving for class, Jeff was more hostile to me than usual. After the events of last night I thought something would've changed..

It figures he wouldn't remember last night.

I arrived home as usual and prepared to sleep early to avoid having to deal with you know who.

However, I had quite the amount of homework to do, so I had to finish them all in a jiff. In the middle of calculating for an equation in calculus, I was interrupted by a knock on the door. He's here.

I'll just ignore him with the excuse of being busy.

Luck was not on my side at that point of my life because of course I had to tumble over the mountain of work I was to do. Therefore announcing my presence.

Cursing my own clumsinnes, I begrudgingly stood to answer the door. But then I questioned why he had the need to knock on the door in the first place, he had a key didn't he?

My question was immediately answered by the identity of the person in front of me. Of course it wasn't him, but his brother.

"Evening Jane, is my brother in?" He asked with such politeness that I began to wonder how he could be related to the devil of a roommate I have.

"He's out at the moment." You could sense the disappointment in his eyes.

"Oh, okay sorry for the intrusion. I'll just get a move on."

Damn, after being countlessly shoved aside how can he still have the commitment to care for his brother?

With my thoughts distracting me from the real word, I hadn't realized that I just spoke aloud the very question in my head, which did not go unnoticed by Liu. I thought of a quick response as to somewhat take back the slightly insulting comment I just made.

"Sorry if I'm being nosy, it's just that I knew the guy for months and I only found out he has a brother recently." And Liu's the student council president of a prestigious college school no less.

"He isn't exactly the most open person in the world. Trust me, I would know." He winked to emphasize that he was joking. To be honest I didn't know whether I should laugh at our predicament or take pity on him, I imagine that he dealed with this for most of his life. I chose to wait for his answer instead of giving him a reaction.

"Kidding aside, no I don't mind. Not a lot of people take the time to ask about him. If anything, I'm glad. To answer your question, it's because I can't help but feel like I owe it to him." He shrugged, and looked to the side as if he was reminiscing their past.

"Favoritism among children can really mess someone up." I added.

"How'd you know?" He was both impressed and intrigued.

I turned around and came back inside as I responded. "I can just tell. Would you like to come in and wait for him instead? I can keep you company if you want." I offered, with half of me wanting to find out more and the other hoping he'd decline instead.

My former state of mind rejoiced when Liu took up the offer.

"Hmmm, it's cleaner here than I remember." He chuckled.
