You didn't see it.
You never noticed the way she tried so hard
to stay strong every day.
You didn't see the way she looked at herself in the mirror.
You didn't hear the way her voice would crack
as she stopped the tears from coming.
You did not have to watch every single thing that my father put her through.
And that is why you don't understand.
You will never understand why I admire her so much.
Her strength and her motivation to not give up is so fucking fascinating to me.
I will always look up to her for that.
Because she, my mother, is the strongest woman I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.
