To those who romanticize mental illnesses on social media,
I am not your fantasy,
and this is not a fairy tale.
Having a mental illness will not make someone fall in love with you.
They will not come hold you when you are falling apart at 3 a.m.
They will not understand you and speak words of comfort to your crumbling mind
because nothing can comfort this
this feeling
is a cold,
lonely,
living hell.
It is panic attacks with no explanation.
It is pushing away those that you love.
It is not knowing why you feel the way that you do.
It is overthinking and overthinking and overthinking.
It is depressing demons taking over your everyday thoughts.
It is cold
and it is so lonely here
because mental illness is not a fairy tale,
and I am not your fantasy.
