Praying To A God That I Don't Believe In

I pray.

I pray that the man standing outside of Walmart today with a sign saying "keep bathrooms male & female" finds the love in his heart to not be so hateful and judge mental.

I pray that you reach out to the beautiful girl in your class and let her know that you notice her. I pray that you let her know she is cherished and accepted in this world although she wasn't born a female. I pray that someone makes her feel comfortable in her new skin. I pray that you make her feel comfortable in her own skin.

I pray that I always keep the same empathy the rest of my entire life. I pray that I never lose myself. I never want to lose the girl who's heart gets shattered every time she sees one of those protestors outside of the local grocery stores. I never want to be anyone but the girl who has love for everyone. I never want to make anyone feel less than human. I pray I continue to support every type of person; regardless of their gender, hairstyle, tattoos, family background, religion, skin color, height, sexuality, or money situation.

I pray that you and I never forget that everyone is simply human.

I pray that we all find the space in our hearts to realize that there is room for everyone. And everyone deserves to be loved. I pray that we never become close-minded and shallow.

I pray that we find peace.
