After Aranellevanima reanimated the dead Minotaur, we went back to Mistaosirion, and went into the local library, in an attempt to find any information on skinchangers. I had found a book in Basic titled how to Skin Something Without a Set Skin, while Saironellotoron found a book in dwarvish, that's title translated to How To Make Shapeshifter Stew. Aranellevanima discovered a book called Shapeshifters, little-known facts about the minority. Her book turned out to be the most useful, and she kept shouting out facts about shapeshifters, whether they were relevant or not, such as, "Did you know that shapeshifters are all allergic to cats?" Or "Did you know that Shapeshifters only natural predator is the Gargantuan Flying Marsh Turtle?"
At that second one, I stopped her, because Gargantuan Flying Marsh Turtles only lived in one place on the planet."So you are telling me that the shapeshifters live in the Helkaluksor?" Meaning "Ice marsh."
She looked at me bemused, "Yes, it said that on page 2. Did you wish to know that?"
Saironellotoron looked at her in astonishment "Yes, that is literally what we came here to find out! What page are you on now?" He asked in bewilderment
"Page 413, Why do you ask?" She quested curiously.
"He is asking because we just wasted three hours search in for an answer that you found on page 2. Oh well, it looks as though we are proceeding to the Helkaluksor, in the realm of the dwarves"
. . .
Three days later, we arrived in Helkaluksor, or more accurately, the borders of it, due to the fact that it was a 96 acre field of radioactive ice, that shined cyan, due to its radioactive state, and was all solid looking, but in places there was water, going to depths of around 3 to 26 units deep, making it treacherous. The dwarves had claimed this territory a long time ago, before the Dragon duel that made it radioactive, because they had found large amounts of titanium there. It had once been the largest titanium mine in the world, but now it was a rubble heap of Ice, radioactive decay and stone. However, the ecosystem still had a large amount of life, most of which had been mutilated by the radiation, and was now large, angry, and would enjoy munching on three wizards who happened to be passing through their houses. However, in order to avoid dying from radiation, I cast a spell to protect us. saying "sandailya raxellor" meaning Shield from all Danger, but it was only level 1, so it would only protect from aura effects, such as radiation, heat, poison, freezing, and paralysis. We proceeded into the marsh, and I said: "Be careful, and watch where you step, for this path is perilous and fraught with much danger and potential for death."
"What of the things we have to get will not be?" Saironellotoron quipped, immediately falling into a three and a half unit deep water hole. When we pulled him out, he was grimacing and shivering, but he optimistically observed: "At least this one is quiet." I realized that he was right, the Marshes were quiet, which was strange considering what I knew about their lifeforms. The life forms in the marshes were all hyperaggressive, so we should be able to hear all of the lifeforms fighting each other, yet the marsh was silent. I looked around, in an attempt to see any animals or creatures, but all I could see was an eight unitary wingspan possessing bird, covered with scales, but somehow still able to fly, but it flew right over us after I shot a fireball at it.
I said, "Let's stick together, I don't want a repeat of last time."
"Why not?" Aranellevanima asked, "Last time was fun!"
"My leg was broken!" I exclaimed, "How was that fun?"
" I was being facetious," She said without tone change.
Saironellotoron laughed "You two done yet, or are we gonna waste more time not getting the skin of a Skinchanger?"
"Fine!" Aranellevanima and I said at the same time, which made Saironellotoron laugh again until I punched him in the arm.
