Looking at the rest of the list, I knew that we still needed to figure out how to get the Poison of a Living Basilisk, and we had some debate on how that was going to work. "Why does it make a difference if it is living or not?" Aranellevanima asked.
"The venom will begin to decompose after the death of the basilisk, due to a radioactive property That the basilisk has." Saironellotoron explained, earning a surprised look from Aranellevanima, who asked, "How do you know that?"
"I have a interest in mythology, and study the beasts within it." Saironellotoron said with a shrug, and turned to me. "How are we going to collect the venom without killing the basilisk?"
"I am unsure. Could we put it to sleep? Like I did the Ankheg in my trials?"
Aranellevanima shook her head, and Saironellotoron explained "Basilisks do not sleep, so that wouldn't work. Let's clean up camp and think about this on the way to Hlócëdor(Serpents Land)". . .
After cleaning up our hastily made camp, we went south, and went all the way to the shores of Land of Quendelie ar Apanónar, then turned west, and followed it for approximately three hours. After getting lost once, because Saironellotoron, and I lack a sense of direction, Aranellevanima took over, and led us to Hlócëdor as Saironellotoron had called it. The real name was "Estelvaeä" meaning "Hope's Creation," but most people referred to it by a name describing the large number of snakes, serpents, dragons, drakons, Basilisks, and Wurms, that lived there. It had originally been named "Meldor," meaning "love land," but had been renamed by the elves after a heroine had been born here three hundred years ago, who had saved them from a terrible Dragon. However, the heroine, named Herievalaica, meaning "Lady of Green," had been overconfident, and had skinned the dragon and taken its head, and scales back to the place of her birth. Within two months, an army of Serpents known as The Final Company, had been raised and the entire area had been razed to the ground, which ironically made the soil the most fertile in the land, but the land was deemed too dangerous to live in by men, elves and dwarves. We were almost to the border when a dragon flew overhead, and noticed us, but it made the decision not to attack. This surprised us, but we did not complain about it. We hurried into the area, and entered a nearby cave dripping with an acidic poison, and a saline scent. It was the cave of a basilisk. Inside, we scouted out the area, and saw that the basilisk was not in there, but it had left it's hoard of bones, and it's eggs inside. We thus knew it would be back, and just waited. Thankfully, we did not have to wait long, as a blood covered brown basilisk entered, dragging the corpse of a partially eaten, slightly smaller blue basilisk. I had looked around, and grabbed a shield off of the arm of the skeletal remains of knight, that was made of basic steel. The basilisk upon its entry to the cave, smelled us, and immediately targeted Saironellotoron, fixing him with a gaze that paralyzed him. I shouted at it, and without looking to see if it followed, ran the opposite way of Saironellotoron. I heard a third pair of foot steps and realised that it must have followed, because Saironellotoron could move again. I turned and threw the shield at it, but the basilisk spit acid on it, and it dissolved into a puddle of liquid metal. I grabbed another shield close by, this one made of Cobalt, and heard Aranellevanima shout to get it's attention. Turning on a heel, I turned just in time to see Aranellevanima scramble up a slope in the cave as the Basilisk slithered along after her. We used the same rotational pattern, until Saironellotoron became trapped in a corner. I shouted "Catch!" Throwing him the shield, and expecting the basilisk to follow me as Saironellotoron put on the shield and held it's shining cobalt surface out in front of him, as the Basilisk prepared to spit. The basilisk, however appeared to be too focused on Saironellotoron, and was still glaring right at him. I watched for a moment, then realised why and laughed. "Saironellotoron, don't move, it paralyzed itself." It was looking at it's own reflection in the shield, and as a result, had looked into it's own eyes, paralyzing itself. Aranellevanima ran forward with a enchanted glass bottle she had bought in Mistaostirion, and collected some poison off of one of the Basilisk's fangs. She handed it to me, then she walked over to a corpse and said "lastafernnin" meaning "listen dead, to me." The bones began to clatter, and formed together into an animated skeleton. She said "garleturma" meaning "Hold the shield." The skeleton turned and took the shield from Saironellotoron, who walked over next to me. I handed the venom back to her, and we turned, and walked out of the cave.
