Not even a day later and Cole, Jorden, and a handful of the pack warriors, and I were all loaded onto Blood Moon's private jet on our way to my home town. Alec, Parker, Grandad, and the majority of the pack warriors stayed behind to protect the pack.
Cole said that the plan for the trip was too see if we could land a surprise attack on the Hunter headquarters as well as gain information that would help us succeed in winning the war.
"How are you feeling baby?" Cole asks pulling me out of my thoughts. I smile at him from my spot in the seat right next to him; Jorden in the across from us. Jorden and Cole were engaged in what Jorden calls an 'intense' game of chess but truth be told Cole hasn't been giving the game much of his attention. "Jorden is removing your queen from the board." I state catching the brunette red handed. Cole whips his around to stare at his friend who unsurprisingly is clutching the white queen in his hand with a sheepish expression on his face. Cole sighs and roll his eyes, "You never change Fly." Jorden shrugs just as a ping goes off on both of their phones.
"Alec says the attack on Dani's old house in Montana was successful. He said her father was not there but the house is demolished so he cannot return even if he wanted to." Jorden explains to us upon reading the email. Cole nods. "Good, we are finally gaining the upper hand in this war."
"We will begin our landing. All passengers must fasten their seatbelts." The pilot's voice floats through the intercom system. The town of Berlin, Ohio was too small to have an airport so we are landing in the next major city over and driving in. My heart flutters at the thought of seeing the house again. I remember how hard it was to leave it. At the time, I truly believed I would be leaving Mama behind but I didn't realize I will always have her memories in my mind and heart.
"Will you cut it out Fly!" Cole growls out to his best friend. I just roll my eyes at the pair and shift my gaze to the country roads we are passing through. Cole, Jorden, and I were all in one car leading the way to my old town; the pack warriors spread out into two cars behind us. Jorden kept kicking Cole's seat like the child he is at heart and my blonde haired Alpha was over his friend's antics.
"I swear to the Moon Goddess if you kick that seat one more time-" Cole is cut off by the brunette once again kicking his seat with a smirk on his face. Cole reaches his arm across to hold me back to the seat before slamming on the breaks; effectively sending Jorden flying into the seat in front of him.
"Get out of the car." He says to Jorden; his voice serious and calm. "Oh come on man I was just playing." Jorden smiles, "Shorty tell your mate to calm his ass down." Cole takes a deep breath before speaking again. "Jorden, one more time and I force you to walk." I sigh and place my hand In Cole's after he has the vehicle moving again. Jorden huffs before leaning back in his seat. "I can't believe you put up with him Dani. He's got one major stick up his ass. I mean all he does his order people around and growl. He is no fun, and I mean no fun." "That's not what you were telling me last night Jorden. If I remember correctly you were begging me not to leave you." Cole says causing us all to laugh. "Damn straight blondie, if you leave me I'll hunt you down and beat your ass." The pair lock eyes in the rear view mirror and share identical boy like smiles.
"We're here." Cole states pulling into the small town; instantly Jorden sobers up and becomes the serious Beta he needs to be for this mission. "Can you lead us to your old house Dani?" Cole asks, letting his gaze drift off the road and onto me. I nod just as we pass the old dance studio.
"We are here. It's the house at the end of this private road." I state after leading us through the town and to my old farmhouse. "Damn Shorty your folks must have had money. I think this is the biggest house in this town." Jorden whistles. I shrug my shoulders and look at the barn where I spent hours hiding in the loft. "Come on." I whisper while leading my way up the front steps of the house.
