Babies and Attacked?

"Hey Rowan." I call as I see her walk passed me on the stairs. The blonde stops walking at the sound of my voice. "Dani, thank the Goddess I need to talk to you." She grabs my arm and pulls me into her and Axl's apartment.

"What's up?" I question her once we are both seated on her couch. I'm glad I ran into Rowan. My mornings are pretty boring now with all pack warriors in training that Cole, Jorden, Alec, Parker, and Mr. Dalton Richards have been running. Dalton is the coldest bastard I have ever met. Cole and Grandad have to stop him from lashing out on the pack members most of the time. But, the guys weren't kidding, he does know how to kick ass. I keep my distance from him though, hell most of the pack does.

Rowan sighs and sits down on the bed. "Are you and Alpha sexually active?" I choke on my spit and start coughing. I have never met someone as blunt as Rowan. Jorden maybe gives her a run for her money, but she tops him. Rowan just sits patiently and waits for my fit to be over.

I blush and nod my head catching her off guard. "Wait really!" she squeals. My cheeks turn a darker shade of red at her excitement. "There is chance you're pregnant! I thought for sure you would say no and then I would be the only one pregnant but you could be and we both could have our pups around the same time!" She squeals again.

"Rowan you're pregnant!" I beam. She blushes, "I meant to tell you in a different way. I guess I got a little too excited and it came out." I laugh at her embarrassed face, "It's all ok Rowan. Does Axl know?" She shakes her head, "I'm scared to tell him."

I roll my eyes, "Rowan if there is one thing I have learned about werewolves it is that they value their mates and offspring more than anything else." "That man is head over heels in love with you and will be overjoyed to be a dad." She nods, "You are right I should tell him. I'll tell him tonight I promise." "Good." I encourage. "Now let's move on to the bigger thing here." She chides, "You could be pregnant." My heart stops as her words register in my brain.

Cole. His response comes through not even a second later. What's wrong baby? Nothing... I just want to let you know Rowan and I are going to the store. Take some of the warriors. He insists. NO! I shout back. I'm sending Alec and Parker with you, no arguments baby there is a war going on. I sigh knowing he is right.

I'm proud of Alec and Parker. They came out to the pack as a couple and have been publically official for about two months now.

"Come on Luna." Alec calls from outside Rowan and Axl's apartment door, "We have to escort you to the store." Parker rolls his eyes, "Do you always have to act so grumpy?" Alec just grunts in response. Rowan chuckles at the pair. "I'll drive." Alec says heading towards the car once we make it down to the underground parking garage. "Nope." Parker chuckles and grabs the keys, sliding into the driver's seat. I laugh and open the door to the back. It's good to see Parker challenge and bring out the less serious side of Alec.

"What are we going to the store for Luna?" Parker asks causing Rowan to giggle. I blush, "Um... tampons?" It comes out as a question but Parker is too embarrassed to notice. His face turns the same shade of red as mine. Alec's lips twitch up into a smile upon seeing Parker's blush.

"We will wait in the car." Parker explains once he parks the car. "Don't tell Alpha." "Don't worry." I smile easing the awkwardness.

"I'll lead the way." Rowan lightly tugs on my arm once we walk into the local drug store. "What if I am with child?" I ask, "I'm 17." "And Alpha is 23," she counters, "Most werewolves have found their mates and have had their first child by 21-22." "Jorden hasn't found his mate." I argue. Rowan's smile drops, "Some wolves never find their mates. In some rare cases one will have died before meeting the other. If this is the case then the other wolf will not have a mate." I gasp, "Do you really think that is the case for Jorden?" She nods. "Most of the pack does." "No one has really been close to the Beta besides the Alpha and you." "Does the wolf go crazy?" I ask in fear for the brunette who has easily found his way into my heart. Rowan shakes her head, "No because they never meet their mate, therefore they never really go through the rejection process." "Do you think Jorden knows?" Rowan shrugs, "Alpha does." "Really?" I question curiously. She nods, "Alpha and Beta Jorden have always been inseparable but if you catch him right you will see Alpha always puts Beta Jorden first. Even now that he has you, I'd say you and the Beta are equally as close to the Alpha."

I stop and think about what Rowan is saying. She's right. Jorden does mean a lot to Cole. They are best friends, brothers. Jorden has been there for Cole his whole life. Jorden helped Cole through everything until I came here. Hell, Jorden still does. Cole fought his own father, but can't be mad at Jorden and me. Cole's eyes light up when he sees me, but also Jorden.

I think back to all the times I have caught Cole looking off into the distance. When I ask him what he's doing, his response is always the same; "Talking to Jorden." I'm glad they have this unbreakable bond.

"Damn," I mutter, "You're right; if I wasn't with Cole I'd think they were gay." Rowan laughs and shakes her head. "Come on, we got way off topic. Gamma Alec and Head Warrior Parker are probably close to bursting in here." With those final words I allow her to lead me through the motions of buying a pregnancy tests.

I sigh and take a deep breath. "Here we go." I mutter looking at the stick. Double lines. That means I'm pregnant. Pregnant, there is a baby living inside of me.

Rowan had left after hurrying me into my bathroom, saying training was over and she wanted to go tell Axl.

I hear the bedroom door open. It's now or never. "I'm pregnant." I say opening the bathroom door. Jorden's eyes light up, "Really? That's great Dani." He walks over and hugs me. "I bet Cole's ecstatic." He continues. "I haven't told Cole yet." I blush. "Let's go tell--" Jorden stops talking as a war cry pierces through the link. HUNTERS!

Jorden grabs my arm, "Come on," He insists. "I just told Cole that you are safe with me." "Where are we going?" I shout as Jorden drags me through the house. "A secret room, I'll stay with you. Don't worry Dani you are safe." I trust Jorden.

Jorden leads me into Cole's office where he pulls a book off the bookshelf causing a door to open up. "There are tunnels that lead under the house in case there is a need to escape." He pulls me into the room before flipping a switch, closing the door behind us. "Come on," he urges, "If we go down these stairs we will dead end into the room with all the entrances and exits off the underground tunnels."

"Dalton?" Jorden questions in shock upon seeing the man sitting down on a chair in the hidden room. "I protect my people." He growls. "She is the cause of this war. Wolves will not die for her." Jorden stands in front of me protectively. "You didn't have your shot today." He concludes.

"Goodnight sister." Nathan whispers in my ear right before everything goes dark.     

WHAT JUST HAPPENED? Dalton decided that saving his race was more important than his son's happiness and let Nathan loose allowing him to capture Dani, Jorden, and... the Richards' heir?
