Chapter 17

Misty's POV

I starred at Tartarus with so much fear that I couldn't even move. But when I heard my twin's scream for help. My mind snapped back to the present.

"Well would you look at this. Some little demigods lost in my world. Aww how sad"Tartarus said sarcastically.

I don't know why but that just made my blood boil.

Maybe it's because I have been living through fear my entire life. And I've been always been the damsel in distress because of all the mistakes that I do.

It always seems like every God and Goddess is after me because I am the daughter of the sea God. It has always been basically me. I know I sound really selfish right now but it's the truth. It has been since I've set foot in that camp.

"MISTY!!"I heard somebody yell behind me. I looked behind me to see everyone looking scared out of their minds. But who can blame them.

The Tartarus himself is standing in front of us and we are surrounded by Laistrygonians. And also one of them was holding my twin sister. I saw Nico sitting up and my heart sting a little when I saw his face.

He was bruised up badly. But there was something in his eyes that I never knew would appear, ever.

Fear.

"MISTY!!"I turned to head to see Brooke on the ground surrounded by yellow dust and also......is that orange lights encircling her?

I looked down at my hands and saw that they were glowing. And I felt a pain on my back. When I turned my head I saw....black wings.

"It can't be"I heard Tartarus whisper.

I looked at him but when I turned my head towards him he was gone.

The Laistrygonians were backing up in fear but they didn't get that far before something shot towards them and they disintegrated into yellow dust.

"W-what just happened?"Brooke said.

"I don't know but I want to get out of as quick as possible"Lily said.

-Time skip-

All of us returned to the Underworld and quietly escaped that place with Amber and now we are standing in front of the place where everything started, Camp Half-Blood.

I looked down the hill to see everyone from camp sitting around the campfire.

"What do we do now?"Amber asked as all of us stood there.

I felt a little smile form in my lips as I said"We go down there and greet everybody. Welcome home to all of us"

"FINALLY"Brooke groaned as she ran off towards the worried demigods. Especially towards our siblings and friends. Oh and she was dragging Amber towards them as well. Almost literally.

Everyone else laughed and walked down the hill except a certain demigod.

"What's wrong, Nico?"I asked as I walked towards him.

He just shrugged and kicked the dirt.

"Just trying to figure out what happened back in Tartarus"He replied after a couple a seconds of silence.

"Hey, we escaped didn't we" he nodded his head in response. "And? I don't see your problem"

"Are you blind? How can you forget the fact that you and Brooke were surrounded by orange lights? You two were practically floating" Nico bursts out.

"Maybe it was all of our powers that the Gods blessed us with forming into one"

"Maybe. But I can't shake the feeling that it's something else. I mean, did you even see Tartarus's face? He was terrified"Nico said.

"And? I think that's a good thing because we finally got a God like Tartarus terrified of us."

Nico sighed and leaned against the tree beside him.

"There's something else bothering you. You can't lie to me, it's really obvious."

Nico looked up at me and sighed again biting his lip.

"That one day when you were down in the dungeons and we...."

"Kissed. Yeah I remember that"I said inteerupting him.

"Yeah"he said a small smile forming on his lips but it disappeared quickly before he looked me straight in the eye and became all serious."I told you who do you love the most and I still haven't gotten my answer yet"

I frowned but still stepped closer to him.

"Actions are louder than words"I said.

Nico looked at me confused but I didn't give him a chance to respond before I placed my lips softly on his.

He stood frozen for a couple seconds before he started to respond by kissing me back.

I pulled back and placed my forehead on his.

"Does that answer your question?"I said as I placed my arms loosely around his neck and he placed his hands at my waist.

Nico smiled a real smile that I haven't seen in some time. A smile that can make you smile back and make you feel warm inside.

He nodded his head as he slowly rocked us back and forth.

He kissed me again and I knew at that moment that Nico di Angelo will be mine forever. It didn't matter that we live in a life where we are fearing for our lives constantly. After many years we found each other again and still had the love we first felt when we first met.
