The day had come that I was going out with Shawn. I had no idea what to expect as I had never gone on a date before, however I had expected that I needed to be dressed in something more classy and date-worthy instead of jeans or anything I felt comfortable in and could have fun in while moving freely.
Shawn himself had ordered me to dress casual and warm. It was november with december coming closer with the second and the weather had changed accordingly. When my family and I had first gotten to Canada, it had been warm and summer-like but now it seemed more like winter instead of fall.
In the mornings and late evenings, it was already freezing and never recommended to be outside at such later or early hours, depends on how you look at it.
I had no idea what we were going to do but it would better be worthy of missing the school carnival.
Our school, Pine Ridge High School, had organized a carnival this weekend and only this weekend. The student councell had been put in charge of it and since I had decided to be more social, I signed up for it. Ian was already part of it and I actually liked the guy, so when he offered a position within the group, I gladly took it.
The week at school had been slow but my time with Shawn had been well cherished. We would steal kisses here and there, thinking that no one noticed but by the end of Monday, everyone in our school knew something was going on with Shawn and I.
We hadn't labeled our relationship yet but everyone was convinced that we were as good as engaged. Like, seriously? We had barely gone out on a date but I had even heard that some were already envisioning our wedding... What?
I listened to Shawn and wore black ripped jeans and a simple white t-shirt with gray shoes. Instead of picking one of my coats, I took out my faux leather jacket. My hair was up in a ponytail/fishtail braid sort of thing and I was void of any make-up and jewelry.
My mother and sister were super excited of our date and while my father and brother tried to make me believe that they hated this, I knew better and was well aware they didn't mind me going out. Definitely not with Shawn.
Ollie himself had told me he wouldn't mind me dating Shawn as he was one of the guys he'd actually aprove of, he told me that at the concert we went to.
Dad didn't mind either, I knew that he aproved of Shawn which is the only thing that I ever wanted for my future boyfriend/husband- not that Shawn and I were engaged but it's just in general that I meant it.
Shawn said that he would pick me up at 6 and it was already 5.50 which meant I only had 10 minutes left.
I'd actually really appreciate it if my mom or Clarissa would come in and give me advise because I was beginning to doubt my decission of asking Shawn out.
Was it really a good idea?
I mean, I'm still working on myself and I know that he wouldn't get wrapped up in it unless I asked for his help but it still seemed wrong of sorts. I felt like I couldn't invest myself into this relationship- if it even was a relationship- fully.
With a sigh, I left my room because I knew I'd only kept doubting myself and this decission I made if I stayed there.
Two voices sounded in the living room, Dad's and Shawn's. I still had 7 minutes before he had to be here but aparently he decided to come earlier.
"She told you, huh?" Dad asked.
I stayed where I was, not going into the living room quite yet because I wanted to hear this.
"Yes sir, she told me everything." Shawn confirmed. "I just wanted to thank you, sir."
Thank him?
Clearly my father thought the same as I. "Thank me? Why would you need to thank me, son?"
"Because if it wasn't for you, she would never be where she was today. She told me about her real parents and how they are, if it wasn't for you they wouldn't take care of her like she should be cared for. If it wasn't for you, I'd never have met her. Thank you."
"Son, I always thought of Charlotte as my own. Even when she still 'lived' with her parents. To me, she had always been my own. When I saw how they raised her, I couldn't handle it. She was such a beautiful young girl, she could have such a great opportunity in this world but if I hadn't saved her, she never would have known it or took it." My father explained.
"Now look at her, sometimes it's as if she owns the world by how she acts. Was she always like that?" He asked.
My mother let out a laugh. "Good heavens, no! Charlotte was actually quite insecure. You have probably seen the pictures, Charlotte was a chubby child and teenager. She only lost weight because she hardly ate when she got into her depression. Now that she's out of it, she's very strict about what she eats and cannot eat but she doesn't hunger herself. It was that that made her so insecure."
"I can't even imagine her insecure." Shawn confessed.
"She still is insecure, you know?" Clarissa said. "She just found a way to hide it better."
"I can't even imagine it. Even if she still is insecure, she doesn't seem like it. How she acts, her exterior, it all seems as if she owns the world. As if the world is at her feet."
"Yes, she's a good actress like that." Dad agreed. "Now, let's get her down so you two can go on your date."
That was my cue to walk in before they found me listening.
I acted surprised as I saw Shawn already sitting there. "Shawn, I though you'd only come in five minutes. I came down here to wait for you."
"You couldn't stay in your bedroom?" Mom asked suspiciously.
"No, I didn't need to be in there anymore so I came down to wait here for him." I answerd, not actually lying.
"Uhu. Are you ready?" She asked.
I smiled and looked at Shawn. "Yes, I'm ready."

This chapter we have pictures! I will include the outfit and the hair do.
Anyway, have any of you seen Chasing Cameron? I did and I thought it was great that they show that side of the fame as well. Everyone thinks it's all glitter and glamour but there's a down side to everything, also fame.
Next chapter will be the date in Shawn's POV!
