Trip
I'm trying hard to run quite fast,
Trying to learn from mistakes in the past
"Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it."
I can't count the people who have told me how
I've come so far, I can't give up now,
But in this race I'm running, I'm struggling to beat it.
Sometimes, I don't pay attention,
And sometimes, I forget to mention
That I have fallen many times before.
I don't look out in front of me
For potholes that are hard to see,
And I end up falling to the cold, hard floor.
I really should be watching more
For things I didn't catch before
And I really should try not to make mistakes.
There are things that will deceive
And will try to make me believe
That they're real, not actually what they are--fakes.
But sometimes, I do trip and fall
Because I lack effort instead of giving my all
And of that, error is where I am found.
True, it can be frustrating,
But fixing an error's illuminating
And much more fun than falling face-first on the ground.
