Something to Say
There's something on the tip of my tongue,
It's always on my mind.
I wish I could explain it, but
The words are too hard to find.
Their job is to teach me,
But it's become so much more than this.
I've come so far and I've learned so much,
And others say "ignorance is bliss?!"
I had to find a way to do it,
A way to let them know.
I hope some day I'll find a way--
I can't just let this go.
My teachers have helped me climb out of
This mess that I've risen above.
But it's not just what they teach me,
It's how much they show their love.
I'm very proud to have
All of these memories to keep.
It's not just one small step,
It's one giant leap.
The way I'm saying "thank you"
Is through the words in this poem
My teachers have been everything to me,
I just hope I've been something to them...
