Not Ready Yet (Butterfly)
Slowly, I open my eyes
Long have I been asleep
I stretch
Then stand
And look around
I roll my shoulders
Opening my wings
It feels good to spread them
I jump
I fall to the ground
Falling is no fun
Neither is crashing
Which is what I did
My wings are wet
I can't fly yet
I hope no one will find me here
It is dangerous for me
To be on the grass like this
People don't want me, but sometimes
They'll take what they can get
I rest for a while
Beside where I slept
Or underneath it, at least
I can't climb very well
I was meant to fly
I feel my back becoming stiffer
Stronger
I feel powerful
I take a leap of faith
And soar through the sky
