The Weary World Rejoices
There was a girl
A young girl
Not any older than me
Who said yes
There was a man
A young man
Not much older than the girl
Who also said yes
And unto them
And unto us as well
A Child was born
A simple Child
With nothing
Nothing but a journey
And a stable
And a manger
And themselves
Such mean estate
In which the Child was born
Nothing but that manger
And that stable
And the animals that lived within
Nothing
Just a Miracle
And angels
And shepherds
And kings
And a star
A star so wondrous
And so bright
So royal that everyone saw and knew
There'd been a Miracle
A simple Child
And a Miracle
That was all that mattered that night
Not the gifts they brought
Not that He lay in such uncomfortable conditions
Nothing
Nothing but the Child
And the Miracle
They were what caused the whole earth to cry out in the greatest joy.
