Retire
Come back, my child,
my young one.
You have such a journey left before you.
I know you must go soon, my child,
but please, come back.
Return to me.
Surely, you are weary from your days, my child.
You cannot make it much farther,
not without some rest.
No, rest is much needed, my child.
Come and lie in my lap,
Come and rest your weary soul.
You have come so far, my child.
I am proud of you, little one.
Your achievements are most respectable.
I appreciate all you have done, my child.
You have worked to no end to please me.
But now is a time when work is not what I require.
So come back, my child.
You have well earned your rest.
Come back.
With your head upon my lap, my child,
I don't wish you to leave.
Stay here with me while you are a child.
No matter what you do, my child,
you will always be my little one,
my precious one.
Come to rest, my child.
Come here to me and I shall wrap my arms around you.
I shall protect you.
Stay with me, my child.
I rest here by myself, all alone.
You are all I have left.
Stay with me, my child.
My sleep is growing deeper and stronger.
I need you with me now.
Stay with me, my precious child.
Stay with me,
as I am forever with you...
