Knocking on the first door in front of the elevator and waiting patiently for it to open, Josh peered around. How could somebody own the entire floor of an apartment building? How was that even possible? Josh and Audrey could barely keep up with the rent of their small apartment.
The door opened, and Josh was yanked in before he could really process the fact that the door had just been opened. Josh squeaked as he heard the door slam shut, and then he was pressed up against the wall, Tyler trapping him.
"Hey," Tyler breathed as he bent down to press a kiss to Josh's neck.
"Um . . . hi." Josh laughed breathlessly. "Warn a guy."
"I got impatient." Tyler shrugged.
"Okay but . . . where's my food?"
Tyler chuckled and pulled away, grabbing Josh's hand and leading him to the kitchen. "Is food all you think about?"
"Yep." Josh admitted. "I'm only with you to raid your pantry." He joked.
"Ah, good to know." Tyler nodded. Then, he raised his voice and said, "Violetta!"
A woman of perhaps 40 years of age appeared, warm smile on her face. "Si, señor?"
"Le puedes dar algo de comer a mi amigo?" Tyler asked her, motioning to Josh.
Josh stood there with a blank expression on his face.
Violetta nodded and got to work.
"Um, what did you say to her?" Josh whispered.
"If she didn't mind the noises that would come from my bedroom later."
Josh smacked Tyler's arm, annoyed look on his face. Tyler laughed, hands going up in surrender.
"Okay, okay, jeez. I just asked her if she could make you something to eat." Tyler said through laughter.
"You think you're so funny, don't you?" Josh grumbled sourly.
"Aw, don't get mad, baby." Tyler wrapped his arms around Josh, head resting on Josh's shoulder. "I mean, you can get mad, and then we'd just burn it off with angry sex and make up."
Josh shoved the brunette away, huffing indignantly. "And you said you didn't joke about sex."
"Who said I was joking?"
"Oh, for the love of God." Josh grabbed his coat and began to slide it on, grabbing his keys as well. He stood up, waving goodbye to Violetta and walking to the door.
"Wait, wait!" Tyler hurried to run in front of Josh, hands at Josh's arms to stop him. He laughed a little. "I'm sorry. I have a twisted sense of humor."
"Yeah, you do." Josh said moodily.
"C'mon, you can't leave Violetta hanging. She makes the best breakfast." Tyler pouted. "You can't leave me hanging either. Remember what you promised to finish?"
"I did not promise anything!" Josh squawked, eyes narrowing.
"Oh, that's right, you didn't. Well, I mean, you're here already." Tyler stepped closer, and Josh's confidence melted.
"No, th-thanks." Josh tried to say as confidently as he could, but he stuttered and that was the end of it. "I don't have an addiction to sex, unlike you."
"I don't have one either."
"Gabriel begs to differ." Josh said under his breath.
Tyler stiffened, eyes narrowing. "What did you say?"
"Nothing." Josh said, too quickly.
"You met Gabriel?" Tyler's expression turned annoyed, almost angry.
"We were talking in the elevator." Josh shrugged.
Tyler crossed his arms over his chest. "And you're just going to believe whatever he says? Rumors go around Josh. I haven't talked to that man in years. He's just a jealous asshole."
"I'm just saying that lots of people seem to think that you can't hold a relationship." Josh rolled his eyes. "When a lot of people agree on something, it's usually because they're right."
"Those people don't know me." Tyler snapped. "They can pretend but they aren't right."
"Whatever," Josh scoffed. He returned to his seat, staring as Violetta made his food. When he felt arms snake around his waist, Josh scowled a little more.
"I'm sorry. I just get fired up when people try to act like they can guess the type of man that I am." Tyler murmured, pressing a soft kiss to Josh's neck.
"A lot of people are telling me to stay away from you." Josh said, keeping his gaze on the food that was being made. "Why shouldn't I listen to them?"
"Because they're wrong." Tyler answered. Grabbing Josh's chin, he tilted the blue-haired boy's head back and kissed him.
Josh's judgement was then clouded by a want for the man, and just like that, Josh followed willingly into Tyler's trap. Again.
Violetta announced something in Spanish, and Tyler pulled away.
"Eat up." Tyler smiled, motioning at the plate that Violetta set down in front of Josh. "You'll need all the energy you can get for later," Tyler added, whispering in Josh's ear.
Josh pushed him away, chuckling - yet still a little flustered. "You're an ass."
"A lovable one."
"Let me eat my damn food in peace, will you?"
"Sure . . . but I'm just saying that we don't want you getting tired in the middle of - "
"Tyler!" Josh cut him off, face pink.
"I'm kidding, obviously." Tyler laughed. "But the offer always stands."
"Let me eat my food, and then I'll consider it." Josh rolled his eyes.
"Take your time." Tyler got up, heading to his office. "I'll be over here."
"Doing what?" Josh asked.
"Oh, nothing. Just . . . uh, stuff for Joseph Enterprises." Tyler closed the door, and Josh sat there for a second.
He shrugged it off and began to eat his food.
