I decided to explain to Justin what all had happened so Kyle and Corey wouldn't go at each other again. After I finished explaining, we all grabbed a couple slices of pizza and watched TV in the living room. Kyle sat in one of the chairs while Corey sat on the couch. I plopped down on the couch with Corey and Justin sat in the second recliner. We all agreed on watching the marathon of Breaking Bad that was playing. We had watched about three episodes when I started to get a little cold. I think Corey noticed because of my shivering.
"Do you want a blanket Adrianne?" He asked looking at me.
"Yes please." I answered innocently.
Corey got up and grabbed a blanket sitting in a basket in the corner of the room. He came back over to the couch and sat next to me and tossed the blanket over both of us. Corey then put his arm around me and pulled me closer. I heard Kyle scoff and when I looked at him he rolled his eyes. Corey was staring at him and giving him a dirty look. I looked up at Corey and put my hand on his thigh. He looked down at me and simply nodded. I guess he knew what I was talking about.
"Kyle?" Corey started. "I'm sorry man."
Kyle didn't say anything. Just continued to watch the episode of Breaking Bad that was playing.
"I should have started the fight. I shouldn't been a man about it, and not a baby." Corey continued to say. This time, Kyle replied.
"I'm sorry too. And you didn't start the fight, I did. I shouldn't have said what I said. I was being the baby."
"Can we just agree not to do that again?" Corey questioned. "Because I'm not going to lie, but it kinda fucking hurt."
"You're telling me." Kyle said. "For the youngest, you're pretty strong."
We all kind of laughed as Corey and Kyle both got up and gave each other a bro hug.
Corey then came back to the couch and sat next to me as he did before, but this time he pulled my legs onto his lap. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and I put my head on his chest.
"Corey?" I asked.
"Yeah?"
"How are you gonna tell your mom about this?" I asked quietly.
"Shit..." He mumbled.
"What?" Kyle asked.
"How are we gonna tell mom about what happened. She is going to be pissed." Corey said repeating my question to Kyle.
"Damn. I didn't think about it..." Kyle replied scratching his head.
"You could just tell the truth?" Justin suggested.
"I think that's the best thing to do." I agreed.
"Yeah. That works for you guys! You aren't the ones she is going to yell at!" Kyle exclaimed.
"Kyle, man, I think we have to tell her." Corey said. "She's gonna get even more mad if we lie to her."
Just as Kyle was about to say something else, we heard the back open and Jody, Leigh Ann, and Jeff walk in. Corey removed his arm from my shoulder and I took my head off his chest and put some space between the two of us.
The three of them walked into the living room and all stopped in their tracks.
"What in the hell happened to you two?" Jody asked shocked.
No one said anything. Just sat there motionless.
"Kyle? Corey?" Jody said angrily. "Do either of you care to tell me what happened?"
"Um... it's kinda a funny story actually..." Kyle started to say.
"I got in a fight with Kyle." Corey said suddenly.
"COREY DREW!" Jody yelled.
"Mom! It was me too! I started it!" Kyle said standing up.
"KYLE DUERR!" Jody shouted turning her attention to Kyle.
"Mom, it was both of us. We worked it out and it's all good now. Were just a little sore." Corey explained.
"You boys can not settle your arguments by fighting. That was fine when you were little, but you are way too big now. You can actually hurt each other." She said trying to calm down. "And YOU!" She said turning around to look at Justin. "Where were you!? Why the hell didn't you stop them?"
"Mrs. Seager, Justin and I were not home when it happened." I said trying not to get Justin drug into the situation.
"Okay. Okay, I'm sorry Justi. I didn't mean to yell at you sweetie." She said finally calming down.
"Boys, I want you to come with me." Jeff said sounding a little angry.
"Yes sir." Both boys said in unison.
The three men left the living room and headed out into the garage. When the door slammed shut, we knew that the boys were in for an ass chewing from their dad.
"I'm think I'm gonna go to bed." Jody said rubbing her temples.
"Me as well. Good night you two." My mom said to Justin and I.
"Night." We said in sync.
Justin and I continued to watch breaking bad for another fifteen minutes or so before we heard the back door slam shut and footsteps going downstairs into the basement.
"I'm gonna take a guess and say that that was PapaSeager. And he doesn't sound happy." Justin said.
Another five minutes passed until the back door opened again and we heard footsteps going downstairs and some coming into the living room.
Corey was the one coming into the living room, but he didn't come in. He just continued to walk past and go upstairs. Justin and I looked at each other with confused faces.
"I think it's time I go to bed." Justin said standing up.
"Me too, it's pretty late." I replied turning off the tv.
Justin then headed downstairs to one of the guest bedroom and I headed upstairs. Noah's door was shut, so I took a guess that Corey was probably sleeping in there tonight. He didn't seem happy so I wasn't going to bother him.
I continued to get ready for bed. I brushed my teeth and took my contacts out and threw my glasses on. I next walked into my room started to change my clothes without turning the light on. I knew my room pretty well, so I didn't really need the light. I took the clothes that I was wearing off and decided just to wear a thong and an oversized t-shirt to bed, no bra. I walked over to my bed and crawled in. The last thing I expected when I laid down was to find Corey in the other side of the bed.
"Corey what..." I started to whisper/yell.
"Shh." He said rolling over and wrapping his arms around me.
At this point, I was too tired to say anything else, and I wasn't even going to complain. I loved sleeping next to Corey.
