~EDITED~
Eren's POV:
It has been one whole day since Levi has joined us. It was a pain to get through to everyone in the council, but somehow I got them all to agree and Levi was named as one of our own. It took a lot of convincing and bargaining, even more explaining. A Rebel, I never thought that would happen, and never thought I would fight so much for it to happen. It took more than four hours to win over the council, the longest standing debate ever. People usually trusted my judgement.
Levi had his own room now, on the opposite side of the castle with all the rest of the servants. I was currently personally bringing him clothes he could have, I knew anyone else would probably rip them or sabotage them in some way. My people were kind people, but salty all the same, I also managed to make Levi my personal body guard. Mikasa spoke for him and might have mentioned that he was her brother. I couldn't believe that worked out, knowing the people wouldn't be too happy once they found out that bit of information, yet I couldn't help that.
"Hey Levi I have...." I trailed off as I opened the door to Levi's room, standing speechless in the lowly lit room,he was shirtless, he whipped around and his hands immediately slapped over his neck and his eyes wide in shock and fear, stepping back away more into the darkness. I walked over to him seriously, tossing the clothes on the bed. He backed up and hit the wall, not taking his hands off his neck, my eyes noticing his promenade muscles, beautiful V line and even a tattoo.
I also noticed the endless scars running over his body from battles long forgotten, dark lines to white ones. As beautiful as his body really was, I couldn't get distracted with that now, "Levi...Move your hands..." I murmured, placing my fingers around his wrists gently as he shook his head.
"N-no!" He rasped, his voice was strong but fear tinged it as he tried to back away from me more, only stopped by the wall.
I looked at his eyes, "Do you think I'm going to hurt you for shits sakes" I said exasperated, he froze and looked at me levelly, swallowing once before taking his hands off his neck slowly, shuddering at the loss and looking at the ground in shame.
I saw the horrible marks over his neck, stepping back and seeing bruises over his hips. I knew he was a warrior but these weren't battle wounds, they were harsh too look at, red and black against his pale skin and strong muscles, teeth marks etching his neck a few times. I stepped back to him and raised my hand, lightly brushing my fingers over the marks, "Who..." I whispered, I knew he was obviously scared that I saw the marks, so they weren't put there by a lover.
He shuddered and swallowed heavily, I knew I really shouldn't care, he's a servant, someone from the Mask alliance, but now he was one of us right? I care for everyone, equally. I stepped back from him and looked at him. He was broken, strong, beautiful but broken, and I still didn't know why. There was no reason for him to leave his companions, he had a good life there with a lot of power, riches to the neck, anything he could ever want. "Why did you leave with us?" I asked in a hushed voice, "You had no real reason to right?" I said and leaned against the wall, the whole situation seeming so backwards to me. I scoffed to myself, I'm questioning this now of all times, after I had fought so hard to make him one of ours, someone of importance.
Mikasa seemed to trust him which surprised me, even if Levi was her sibling he was still raised in another environment. Levi shifted on the spot, looking up at me he sat on the bed. He swallowed heavily, looking at the floor again
"Well?" I said, starting to get impatient, knowing I probably shouldn't force it out of him but I needed to know. Something then seemed to come over Levi, he stood straighter and stopped shuddering.
He looked at me with cold, deadly eyes, "Nothing Sir. I am of full capabilities still, no need to worry for your safety" He said, almost mechanically.
I frowned and tilted my head, "Is that what they train you to say?" I said quietly, crossing my arms and staring at him carefully.
His hard look faltered and his straight figure slumping lightly, "Well..." He whispered and I sat straight. My heart was starting to hurt, it was pounding, making me frown as that was strange, making me push the feeling away.
"You do not have to lie to me" I said and went over to the door, looking back at him "I know you aren't fine, but I don't expect you to be immobile. Come find me when you think you can talk to me" I finished and walked out into the hall, going down the hall and thinking, why was my heart running its own race? Why did his eyes make my stomach drop?
Levi's POV:
I breathed, clutching my chest as I leaned against the wall. I have been here barely a day and I was already falling for the man I vowed to kill, I was no fool, I knew when I had feelings when I saw them. Even if I didn't want to admit or believe them. How could I let him touch my neck? My eyes drifted around the room, and stopped at the clothes. It was an outfit, fitted for my size. It was soft as I slipped it on, covering my neck and the large compass tattoo over my chest. I made sure I looked presentable before I walked out of the room and down to where I was told to go.
The King's room, I walked almost nervously, but with each step was reminded of all the training I was forced into back at the overworlds castle. I have been trained to be a butler, warrior and a cook. Each training took two years, all of them long and terribly taxing on the mind and body. Yet, here I was today. Fully trained, ready to serve a King worth dying for.
Oh how things have turned so quickly for me.
